Bonefish Grill — Restaurant in Winter Garden

Made a reservation online for Saturday night. Parking was a bit tight, but I was able to find one near the mall. I arrived 30 minutes early and just needed to wait 5 minutes for a table. I asked the waiter for a drink recommendation and he suggested the margarita with mezcal (11 dollars). I took his advice, and it did take some time for it to come. After 15 minutes, the drink came with an apology for the wait. It was a sour drink with some orange juice in it, but still a strong drink with a good amount of mezcal. For my entree, I took the trout (19 dollars) with coleslaw and spinach (3 dollar surcharge). It came shortly after my drink. The trout was fresh and flaky and my requested sauce of pan Asian had the right amount of soy and sesame seeds. The coleslaw and spinach complemented well, but I did enjoy the spinach more as the cream they added made it really tasty.

The service was friendly, but a bit careless. When I asked for some asparagus to go, it came plated with my fish, and when I mentioned it to my server, I was handed a box for me to place them myself. When it came to paying for the check, I was mischarged by a dollar for my sides. I also mentioned it to a server, who then offered me a free bang bang shrimp coupon (a 12 dollar value) next time I visit, which I accepted. The atmosphere is quite small and casual for a bonefish grill, and not too loud either. There was outdoor seating, but I preferred the air conditioned indoor seating.

Even though the service was a bit off for me, I did enjoy the friendliness and helpfulness of all, and the really good food and drinks. I will visit again this year and enjoy the free bang bang shrimp next...

Frequent costumer here. Normally, the service is outstanding. We are currently leaving at this very moment from your winter garden location. Server Melissa H was completely rude and inattentive from the start. I don't understand the negative treatment. I'm completely in shock. My cesar salad was old tasting and noticeably brown in color. I explained it was "old tasting" and if I can get an order of fries instead. There was no comment, no apology, she just grabbed the plate came back and put the fries on the table and walked away. I didn't have anytime to even ask for ketchup. No interactions following the exchange of fries. When she came with the device to pay, There wasn't a thank you for dining with us or come again, NOTHING, she did say however "here, (providing the device) my tip?" . After providing her a 20 percent tip. I informed her there was no pen to sign the receipt so I used the crayon from my son's menu. She grabbed it and open to check and walked away. No words. So I said "thank you have a great day" again no response or acknowledgement from Melissa H. I again repeated myself louder. Have a great day! Where she then, as she continued with her back towards me says "you too, hun". I'm left speechless. We eat restaurant food a lot, but normally we order online, pick up, and eat at home. Today was my birthday so we decided to go out and have a meal. Everyone was so nice and accommodating to my disability. They even gave me a birthday card! We had $5 martinis on the Memorial Day special. I had two "1901 Dirty Martinis" which were wonderful. Hubby had a pomegranet martini which to be honest was too sweet. He wasn't too hungry so he ordered the Chicken Egg Rolls. They were delicious. Because it was my birthday, I ordered the lobster. When it came out it was really over done. I felt bad about it but it was my birthday and it did cost $42 so I sent it back. It took a long time for them to re-do it and I was pretty tired by the time it came. No problem! They boxed it up for me and it was FREE. And I also got a free piece of cheesecake for my birthday. Everyone in the restaurant expressed regret that we didn't have a perfect experience given that it was my birthday and also our first time there. We left our server, Theresa a very big tip! She was so sweet. Really, I had the best time though the martinis may have helped with that lol. As I said we order pickup often and we will definitely add Bonefish to our list. And the next time we want a special night out they will be first...
