I went with a friend to print a large picture, so we went to the copy and print center to ask for assistance. The woman there had absolutely no idea what she was doing or talking about. I’ve had this specific service done at other Staples MULTIPLE times. She clearly had no idea what to do, so I thought maybe she’s new or hasn’t done this specific thing before. Instead of asking a more knowledgeable coworker for help, she left us to figure it out on our own while she went and sat down. We made it very clear what we wanted as soon as we got there, but she kept talking about different types of services.
Trust me I understand what it’s like to work in retail, but I’ve never met someone so so unwilling to do their job. We left after nearly an hour of trying to work with this lady, but ended up going back hoping that a supervisor would be more knowledgeable.
We waited in line to ask for a manager, but one of the cashiers walked away before we could step up to him. A different cashier reluctantly called for one. The manager came up and very clearly answered every question we had in less than 10 minutes. We wasted almost an hour with the print lady when the manager could’ve cleared it up in minutes. The price ended up being over double what it was in the past, but that’s not my main issue with the place. It’s the customer service...

I had a very frustrating experience at the Staples in Winter Garden Village. I went in to make a few simple copies using the self-service machine, but there were no instructions posted on how to use it or adjust the settings. I placed a black-and-white document in the feeder and was charged $0.81 for a color copy I didn’t need — the machine was strategically set to color by default, which feels like a sneaky way to charge customers more.
Then, I tried making another copy and it came out extremely light and unreadable. I had to ask an associate for help, and unfortunately, she was very rude and dismissive. She quickly showed me how to darken the print settings — something that would’ve been helpful to know before wasting paper and money.
When I asked how to request a refund for the unusable copies ($0.81 + $0.30 = $1.11 total), she told me to speak to “her,” referring to the woman behind the main desk, Katy. When I approached Katy, she told me flat out that there are no refunds — even after I showed her the unusable copies and explained the lack of instruction on the machine. Her attitude was completely unhelpful and unapologetic.
Bottom line: There’s zero guidance, zero customer service, and zero accountability. You’re on your own — and if the machine misprints, you eat the cost. Very...
Read moreI purchase what was displayed as a brand new Apple Magic Mouse ($70) after getting home I discovered it had been previously synced to another device. I called and spoke to the manager ALEX and he told me he could give me 10% off... He told me that's what the price should have been for a returned item... I was deceived to think it was a new item and now I have to go back and get the refund for $7... The manager was very unhelpful and basically made me feel like it was my problem and I should have known the product was already used. It was the store that tried to sneak and put a used item back on the shelf and sell it for full price. He felt that 10% was a deal since the itme was retuned( from the previous buyer) within 14 days... Who knows what could have happened to the item in that time (dropped, gotten wet, etc) Horrible customer service! He never even asked my name or tried to rectify the situation... I will not be returning to this...
