Jess' Place — Local services in Woodland Park

Shame... So many potential fine patrons in such a great location with so little respect and common courtesy. I have cheerfully attended a few times, always tipped more than what is required for bad attitudes, poor service, overpricing and an overall, downtrodden atmosphere. I performed music for free and my DD/dog sitter was gangstalked whilst I was on stage trying to order food, not a drink. When I peacefully explained the situation, attempted to place a food order to go, and inquired as to the underage policy, the bartender kindly informed me that no underage patrons were permitted past 8pm. I thanked him kindly, apologized for the misunderstanding, attempted to cancel my food order, pay my bill and inform my guest to leave when the owner stormed into my personal space, shouting/cursing/barking orders/trying to chest bump/ threaten me and demanding we leave. She foolishly blocked my right of way several times making verbal threats and menacing gestures. When I attempted to diffuse the hostile owner by addressing the bar tender stating I must pay before I could leave and clearly stating I didn't want to support such a hostile establishment and only wanted to pay my bill, retrieve my property, and inform my guest of policy, I was shouted over, tresspased and threatened further. I clearly stated I would gladly leave as soon as I paid, recovered my music equipment and dogs and would never return. I was again threatened by the owner to," leave now or I'll remove you! You don't talk to me like that, I'm the owner!" I tried to walk past stating I would ask my guest to leave and grab my dogs and guitar, only to be blockaded by the angry owner still screaming and the bartender now attempting to throw hands with me for clear self defense. Yes, I necissarily challenged back in self defense and promptly left. This place is an empty, low vibrational, overpriced, dump run by anger and hostility. Not safe! Zero stars, do not recommend! I only gave it 1 so I could post the truth...

My wife and I have been coming here for several years...since before Jess owned the place. We have always enjoyed the environment, the people, and the staff. We have witnessed them try to make the environment comfortable for all visitors. We know all the staff and they have always been attentive and kind. I would recommend coming here for any reason. Particularly nice if you want to watch the game or want to play free pool. I have no doubt you will have...

Went down to Jess Place to watch the hockey game the other night and my experience was sensational!! The staff was very polite and took my drink order quickly and served with the utmost care! The atmosphere in here was supreme and other patrons very friendly and cordial! I will keep coming down here for the drinks and sporting events! Seems like a local bar with a hockey flare! Keep up the wonderful experience...
