White Flower Cake Shoppe — Restaurant in Woodmere

I’ve been here many times in the past and was quite happy with the quality of the food. However, this time I was quite disappointed with just about everything. I ordered two of the mini cakes. I was supposed to get a white cake with pink frosting and a chocolate cake with blue frosting instead she gave me the complete opposite of what I asked for And you can’t fix that after someone bites into it. The chocolate one was quite dry and flavorless. Nothing like I’ve had in the past. Definitely not worth the extra cost. I can go to Giant Eagle and get something just as good or better. The decorations, of course are amazing and do look fantastic but what good is that if the quality of the inside is dry and terrible. The other disappointing piece was the woman helping behind the counter. She obviously hates her job and doesn’t want to be there. She seemed put off and irritated that I was there. I didn’t catch your name. She was a little on the smaller side, height and width, never smiled, and when I said, I wanted an additional item huffed as if irritated. Another young lady, came out from the back, a little heavier, set and taller, who was very smiley and appeared friendly, but I was the only one there so the cranky young lady helped me. I don’t know that I’ll be back at least not for a while. Bad service and dry product. Not a good combination.

I tried to order a cake from White Flower Cake Shoppe. The woman on the phone was extremely unpleasant. I've never spoken to such a rude person before. I needed a gender reveal cake, but I wasn't sure of the gender yet. I was willing to order two cakes to have them ready. She acted like I was asking for the world. I've never been spoken to so disrespectfully. I was hoping to enjoy their cakes and use them for future family functions, but I cannot support a company that employs such rude people. When I told her I would call back with payment (I'm a teacher and wasn't by my purse), she made some rude comment about their policy and needing payment. I told her I understood, but that I didn't have my credit card at that moment. This might be their normal policy and that's fine, but please don't treat me like a delinquent for not having my card on me at that moment. After hanging up, I realized that there were plenty of other bakeries who actually appreciate new business and their customers. I love White Flower Cake Shoppe! Ten years ago, we went to them to make our wedding cake. Lauren took inspiration from the lace on my dress to create the beautiful design and my bouquet for inspiration on the flowers. This year, for our 10 year anniversary I asked if she could make a mini replica to celebrate. It was so gorgeous and delicious! We did the white cake with strawberry filling and yellow cake with chocolate ganache, just like our wedding cake. I cannot say enough how much I appreciate the outstanding level of customer service, attention to detail and take talent that goes into every item I’ve had over the years. We visit their Strongsville and Woodmere locations for case cakes, have ordered holiday/birthday cakes and stopped in for macaroons, cupcakes, cakesiclea and more over the years- it’s always so awesome! I absolutely recommend them for any of your bakery needs (or wants bc they can make it happen!)
