Edit: The owner reached out to me and apologized for the mistake and I was refunded and they will send me the newest Karen Slaughter book which I think is fair for holding my money for over a year.
The surprising thing was how quickly the owner contacted me and apologized. Didn't try to lie or deceive me about my order and seemed like a decent person.
I hope Foxtale Books continues this type of customer service and other than this situation I'm a big fan of their shop just wish it was closer to me for some of their signings.
Original: I had forgotten about your business until you sent out the recent Karen Slaughter emails. Over a year ago I preordered a signed copy of her book over a month before the signing and never received my copy. I contacted you at the end of September because my book had never left it's "in process" or "order ready to ship" status, or however your business words it.
Imagine my surprise when I checked my account on your site and it said my order was complete. Complete how? Did you finally refund me after I requested it cancelled? Checked the credit card and the only mention is where you took my money. Checked my email to see if you emailed me a tracking number and let me know it was sent out.
Give me my money back. You never sent me the merchandise. If you want to argue post a copy of the email where you would have notified me the book was sent with a tracking number. I'm sure you...
Read moreI don’t want to be that person who negatively reviews a bookstore, but this is just absurd. I ordered a book that was supposed to come on March 2nd. On March 9, I emailed the company and they said, “oh, we never got the Harper Collins tote bags. We haven’t even put it into the mail yet.” I never asked for tote bags and I never wanted a tote bag (I already have too many and all they create is clutter). So they said they’d now send me the book. It’s now 20 days since it should have arrived and still no sign of the book. I emailed them again and asked what’s going on. They said that media mail shipping is notorious for being late and getting packages lost. I asked why they would choose to send me it through media mail. They said they don’t choose it. I chose it because I wanted cheaper shipping. Um, no. I chose it because that’s what they listed on their website and because I wanted to support an indie bookstore instead of Amazon who would have given me free shipping. They only gave me my tracking number after my third time emailing them and USPS has not updated progress on the package in 7 days. Maybe I’ll get it eventually. Maybe it’s lost in the mail. The bookstore made me sign a policy that they wouldn’t be responsible for books lost in the mail, so I might be screwed. Either way, 20 days, no book. I’d hope that after all of this, they’d give me a small gift card or coupon or something. But just...
Read moreI ordered an extremely hard to find book (after being scammed 4 times for the same book… that ridiculously hard to find) I didn’t have any hopes in this shop not being a scam as I’m not from GA. After ordering and seeing it process I had much higher hopes. But my anxiety still got the best of me and I panic contacted them and one of the managers answered (sorry horrible with names) but she was very helpful and informative! And I actually had someone to talk to! Anyways I got my book today and it was precisely what I needed! They do great in actually showing stock they have and fulfilling the needs no matter how rare the item is! I was shocked and amazed and will definitely use them again for my book needs! Thank you so much for all your help and sorry if I was a thorn in your side with my anxiety! You’re wonderful and I hope anyone who shops with you...
