We've been going to canyons on and off over the years. A couple of days ago, our experience at the restaurant compelled me to write this review. Our daughter, after a a really tough loss in softball, (She's 17, wearing her uniform and pretty dirty.), had this look on her face that conveyed the utter disappointment she was feeling at the time. She asked if we could go to Canyon's after the game, and my wife and I obliged her because we wanted to end the night on a decent note, and we knew it would make her happy. Parking is a pain in Woodstock, and i avoid the area every chance i can. That night, however, there was no debate. We went directly after the game parking be damned! We were met at the door by Becky, who opened the door for us while also noticing the look on our daughters face and knew it was a tough night for her and Becky did what she could to make her smile again talking with her while waiting in line to place our order which worked, she certainly did smile and appreciated the pep talk, only for that look on her face to come back and continue to relay her total disappointment after the encounter with Becky ended. My wife and I ordered burgers as they are the specialty of the house, our daughter ordering chicken tenders that she absolutely loves from Canyon's. She's ordered them ever since she was little. The food was great, fresh, and tasty as it always is. I do have to shout out about the krinkle fries at Canyon's, which are a favorite of mine along with their delicious burger sauce with which to dip said fries in. Nearing the end of our meal, Becky comes over and sits in the booth with us, asking my daughter about the game, what position she plays, etc, in an effort to get her to smile again. Becky then leaves us for a few minutes and comes back with a big chocolate shake with oreo pieces on top and a mound of whipped cream. Needless to say, this broke our daughters funk and kept the smile on her face for the rest of the night. It's encounters like this that keep us coming back. Becky could not have been any better of a representative for the business honestly. She saved the evening for our girl and made a difference, which again keeps us coming back as family to Canyon's, even if the parking situation does suck! 😀 Apologies all for the long-winded review, I felt like I needed to express this experience in an increasingly degrading customer service environment. Thanks...
Read moreCanyon Burger has disappointed us twice and we will not be returning. It is truly sad because their burgers ARE GOOD! The issue here is management. I worked in the restaurant industry for 10 years and understand how these businesses work, but honestly anyone standing around watching the kitchen on a weekend would figure it out. Both trips we had the same issue. The first trip, they were apologetic and gave us a few cards to come back and get free burgers. We figured it would be a while before we returned, but we did enjoy the burgers so we gave them another try and had the exact same issue, only with the attitude of, "well, too bad." I'll elaborate. Both trips we ordered 3 burgers and a salad To Go. Both trips we waited 50 MINUTES for our order! What was infuriating was watching people who ordered after you getting their orders. I noticed this the first trip, but our second trip it was confirmed. They do the tickets OUT OF ORDER! They take the easy 2 person burger tickets as they come in and send them out their food, so if you are a table of 4 you end up waiting. I WATCHED IT HAPPEN! Our order was in line and I watched multiple smaller orders behind our order get expedited before our order. This causes a huge wait for the people who have larger or more difficult orders. This is NOT how an establishment is run! Do the orders in the order they are received! I cannot understand how they function this way. People were getting very frustrated and their answer was, "I can refund your money." Um, what? Go to Canyon Burger on the weekend at...
Read moreThe whole experience I had was awful!!! First thing when I walk in is to see 3 teens "working" standing behind the front counter texting. The cashier that said she could help us was doing leg lifts.... and then 2 other workers was standing at a table talking with there friends.... then as we were waiting a very long time for our food all the floors were so dirty!!! Trash covered the floors and food. While one person walked around wiped the tables and brushed all the trash onto the floor, and the rest of the teenage workers were texting and leaning against the counter. In plain sight. Not even trying to hide the fact that they are doing anything and everything other then working. Oh and not to mention that 2 of the teen workers had there fingers in there month and biting there nails. We waited so long we got up to go get our food that was sitting on the counter. No one brought it to us. This was just horrible. I saw these same reviews but I ignored it and thought it couldn't be that bad. But this is the worst I've EVER seen any any place. Canyon Burger, you should really be ashamed and imbarressed of your workers that you are paying. Whatever you are paying is way more then they deserve. Hopefully someone sees this and can fix it. Smh so...
