Truck and Tap is pretty straightforward as far as what it is. I've not had a bad experience in the times I've gone, either at slow and crowded times.
The food truck offerings are good, and they keep the website updated so you can plan around your cravings if you know something is going to be parked there on a given day.
The staff is knowledgeable about their tap offerings, and even on nights when it's several people deep at the bar, they manage to be attentive and fast.
Incredible selection of other libations. You could spend $10 or $200 depending on what you're after and what the occasion is. The top shelf is impressive.
If I had to level any sort of critique, it would simply be that the patio area directly outside the back door is pretty small and bare, but honestly if you're going out that way, you're headed to get food from truck. In other words, it doesn't detract from the experience; it's just the only thing that could use any sort of improvement from my perspective.
It's a perfect place to grab a bite for lunch while walking around on a nice day, a great spot to have dinner if you want a break from a normal sit down restaurant, and a fun stop if you're just want a sip before heading on to another spot on a night out.
Check the website for the calendar, or don't. You'll likely enjoy...
Read moreFirst time at Trunk and Tap - it has an ingenious restaurant model. A brewery with a different food truck outside each day - whoever thought of this partnership is living in the year 3021.
When I went - it was a grilled cheese truck and it was fantastic. Easy service, no line - and best of all, was cheap.
The downside to the brewery is the wait staff. It’s first available seating and we had a waitress who got our first drinks and then mysteriously disappeared completely. Never to be seen again. Minor gripe- but was still something worth noting in my review.
To get the second round - I stood at the bar for quite sometime before I was finally noticed. I’m sure anyone reading this would say “that’s a you problem” but I made eye contact with several bar staff, and they continued to stand there and chat with each other.
Other than that- I’d definitely go back and try the different food trucks, and maybe have a better time with the service.
Wouldn’t recommend this place if you have kids. Definitely a young adult...
Read moreThis is a really fun and unique concept. The picture well describes the casual, youthful atmosphere, but the customers were a mix of young and old, upper class and working class. We give this two enthusiastic thumbs up!
They have a full bar and the bartenders are fun and attentive. The way the food works is that they bring in a different food truck every day and park it out back. You go down and order your food and bring it back in to eat it at your table. The day that we went the food truck was Hoagie Bros, but they had an interesting mix of Mediterranean, Italian, Cuban, and American. I had St. Louis ribs which were great, and L had a Cuban. Prices were very reasonable for...
