Just had the worst experience I've ever had at a Target. Was trying to check out at the self-checkout and an item was having trouble scanning. I tried it one more time and an employee came over and said very curtly, "You are going to cancel your whole order!" That was literally the first thing he said to me. Not, "Do you need help?" or "May I be of assistance?" He fixed the issue and walked away. When it was time to pay, I had two gift cards and I proceeded to scan them. The same employee apparently thought I was taking too long (even though there was not a line and there were plenty of machines open) (side note, I am just slow and methodical and not in a hurry), so he comes over and grabs the first gift card and scratches off the back and scans it, then grabs the second one, scratches off the back and scans it - never even speaking to me. He then walks off again. I shake my head and continue finishing my payment (the gift cards didn't cover the total). I open my Target app to scan to pay and when I do, the machine beeps at me. I try one more time and this time the same employee comes over and says in an extremely curt tone, "I didn't realize you hadn't done that yet, you have to do things in the right order!" He then proceeds to mumble some things and when I try and ask him a question, he says very loudly, "LISTEN, you have to LISTEN!" Even though I was trying to learn what the issue was and needed to ask questions to find out the information I needed, he wouldn't allow me to talk because he wanted to tell me what he thought I needed to know - even if that wasn't what I was confused about. Basically, there are "rules" when checking out that customers don't know because 1) we don't work there and haven't been trained on the machines; 2) every store is different in how things are done and in one store you have to scan the gift cards first but in another you have to scan the pay app first; and 3) there are no signs telling you in what order things need to be done. So, he was upset that I didn't know the "rules" for his specific store and treated me like I was an idiot because I couldn't understand his mumbling. During all of this exchange, I said, "You really don't have to be rude." and he said, "You aren't listening!" I was always listening. I was always calm. I was trying to learn because I like to know how things work and I would like to do it correctly next time. But he didn't know any of that, because he was so intent on being rude and expecting me to know information that only employees would know. The exchange could have gone so differently if only he had come over and said, "This machine and you aren't friends today, are you? haha" and then said, "There is a certain order that everything has to be in for it to work correctly - I know you wouldn't know that and it's kind of silly, and I'm sure you've done it in a different order at other stores, but here we are, so I can explain it to you if you want to understand," See how simply that is - it's called...
Read moreTonight I had the most rude encounter at any shopping store that I have ever had. We all know target closes at 10pm so 10 minutes prior to them closing we are trying to finish our shopping(A laundry basket). We were on the wrong side of the store so trying to being courteous I asked an employee(Cameron) where they were so we could hurry and check out but also asked if it would be to late as I know they were closing in 10 minutes. She stated it would be fine, which was very kind. (Mind you I only had a few items in my cart. Upon standing to check out, we stayed at distance from other customers to be respectful. We were then approached by a women who very aggressively said excuse me, we’re closed! My boyfriend stated, so can we still check out? She said we would like go home, so check out! Taken back by her actions were ringing out our items and as my boyfriend looks over she says “Do you have a problem” I stated I feel like you’re very aggressive for no reason. My boyfriend said excuse ma’am what’s your name? She stated “Susan”. As a young gentleman by the name of joy, I believe proceeds to apologize for her actions. I asked the name of the young lady who is very kind and patient and he gave me her name(Cameron) , and I repeated the name of the older woman who proceeded to have an attitude and watch us like we were doing something wrong, to be corrected that her name was Diana! Not only did “Diana have an attitude problem she knew she did which is why she lied about her name. It really is a shame that a younger generation had to apologize for someone who was much older and should be leading by example! I expect more of you target… I know I wouldn’t want a co worker like that much less someone representing a company I work for. I attached a copy of the date and time for checkout so people could see we weren’t there 15-30 minutes after closing.(10:05 I paid and received my receipt, this is also after the confrontation of Diana) btw I only gave 2 stars because the 2 kind employees you had. Actually all of them were polite tonight even upon walking out except...
Read moreWe went in today to look at buyer some new kitchen appliances, air fryer, instapot and new coffee maker. We didn't find the first two items we were looking for but we got the coffee pot. We went to check out and they said our check wouldn't go through and gave us a number to call. We asked for management because this has never happened before, they offered us a store debit card. To open an online account linking our bank to that card. Management came and took us to CS and the same thing happened. Payment declined. They advised I call their 800 number. So I did. The lady that answered was foreign, I could barely understand her. She said in order to now write checks for purchases people must register an account with Target, and give out the routing number and account number on their account. I questioned this 3 times to make sure I understood her. I was standing in the middle of a line of people and she wanted my banking information, I told her this, she said she was sorry but until our account was set up with the checks account and routing we couldn't write a check at Target. I explained to her and to Target store management I did not feel comfortable with that arrangement. Again, they apologized and asked if we wanted to open a store debit card. We declined that offer. Now why can't a store take a check, without the customer calling in and making an account with that checking accounts information. The information is on the check already, why should we speak to a foreign entity and give out our banking information to be able to write a check that is a walk-in and buy store? They didn't show the least bit of concern for the sale, nor could answer the above questions. Their store policy has just lost them a customer,...
