I just wanted to provide some feedback- Atlanta bread’s food is great and one of my favs- however today I noticed a few things in which made this an unpleasant experience.
I ordered a potato salad- traditionally vegetarian. I am a vegetarian and have an intolerance so nitrates, therefore I always read ingredients to ensure everything I eat is completely vegetarian. The potato salad’s ingredients were not listed on the menu but being a traditionally vegetarian dish, I did not inquire whether it contained meat or not. If it had additional or specialty ingredients, these should have been listed on the menu. I learned after eating a good amount of it, that it contains smoked ham. I cannot eat nitrates due to a severe sensitivity, so will now feel unwell due to having eaten this (hives, migraines, etc) and also have now eaten meat which I do not eat as a vegetarian. Though this was frustrating, I was not upset because I understand that the restaurant may not have thought about this, so I called the restaurant to let them know that they may want to note this on the menu so that future customers are aware. I asked for the manager and was very polite (I simply let her know what happened… she seemed unaware that the potato salad contained meat and told me that she was going to go check the ingredients) but I was then hung up on and not given a call back. This experience makes me hesitant to eat here again, especially as the restaurant did not seem receptive to feedback.
I also asked for a side of mustard for my sandwich and was made to get back at the end of the line to place an order for the condiment and to pay for the condiment. I know some specialty condiments may require an additional cost at some restaurants, but common condiments like mustard, honey mustard, ketchup, and mayo are free at most all restaurants. All of this felt unusual and made for a...
Read moreThis USE TO BE a good place but....On Sat 02/13/16 my gf and I went there for lunch. They were out of Pesto, so the cashier recommended another sandwich so I said, ok. Then while getting my drink one of the servers came over and said, we're out of Panera bread, so can we get you a different sandwich? Really? These people were out of everything.. So I had to change my order again! My gf was eating her food and after 20 min, yes, 20 min they brought out my sandwich and my gf was almost done with her meal. There were probably 6 people in there at the time when we placed our order and some were eating then so it wasn't like we were in during the lunch crowd. I bit into the sandwich and all I tasted was bread so, I pulled it apart and I swear there was no more than a 1/4 cup of chopped chicken breast on the sandwich. I'm an engineer and i'll tell you, that was a sorry excuse for a sandwich! So I marched my @$$ up to the kitchen counter and requested a refund! The guy who made the sandwich just happened to be walking by and upon telling him, he admitted it was a ridiculous amount of chicken but, his "manager" the middle eastern guy told him only put that much on. After waiting 20 min, and getting that crap @$$ sandwich, they were only willing to give me the price of the sandwich back, not the full cost of my meal which was only the chips and the drink! So when my gf finished her food, we went to Slotskis deli and i'll tell ya, it was like night and day on the food! Then that night, my gf started to feel nauseous and yep, she had got food poisoning. SOOOO to say we wont be coming back to this, middle eastern run onna dime cheap place.... is an understatement! Simon and Mary's reviews are also an accurate review of this place going down hill like a wet rat on a...
Read moreMy husband and I went on a little day date (shopping and lunch) and we decided to stop in Atlanta Bread. It had been years since I ate there. I have to say, I was pretty impressed. First, it was very clean and it smelled really good. They have a large easy to read menu (sometimes the words are tiny at other places) with lots of options, including gluten free. Sandwiches, wraps/paninis, soups, salads, baked goods, gelato/sorbet….! The display of fresh baked daily items looked so good. Anyway, the restaurant was a bit busy so the very friendly GM Stacey (I hope I spelled her name right) came over to take our order. She was knowledgeable and helpful. I ended up getting half of a chicken salad sandwich on sourdough with a well proportioned bowl of broccoli cheddar soup. It came with a piece of bread perfect for dipping. My husband ordered the Monterey wrapini with chips and said it was really good but he wished it was a little bit bigger. You can order to-go but we dined in and the food was brought to our table. After we finished eating we went back to the gelato and sorbet display. Stacey said they were offering a free sample scoop of a couple different flavors. She said she is working on rotating flavors every so often to determine the popular flavors while maintaining a nice variety. I chose the lemonchello which apparently isn’t very popular but, I thought it was delicious. My husband tried mango and man was it good! I put a couple dollars in the tip jar since I was pleased with the service and food. Stacey informed us that all tips go to the staff and the managers keep none. I thought that was awesome! We will definitely be making this a more...
