I'm amazed at how badly my mother and I were treated the last time we were in the store . I love HL and all the great things they supposedly stand for, but this store does not represent them at all. We were assured by an associate of an item price and coming to the cashier was told that not only was that item not on sale but other items that were marked were also not on sale. Whether they were or not is beside the point, but the treatment was horrific. The customer service manager, Alejandra, of all people demanded that we show her every item in their locations just to prove us wrong. So while one of us stood at the cash register waiting, the other was wandering around the store with the manager. Frustrated with the treatment that we had just experienced, and the customer service managers rolling eyes throughout our conversation, we were becoming very impatient. I'm sure this was evident and with good cause. I explained to the CS manager that I did not appreciate being talked to or treated the way I have and with uttering a single word of apology, remorse, or indifference (literally, not a peep), she walked away, once again rolling her eyes and mouthing the word "wow" as she strolled away.
If you expect that I will ever return to Hobby Lobby again, you would be sorely mistaken. Michaels has definitely earned our business and appreciation. Maybe Hobby Lobby should take some customer service notes, because if that's how the customer service manager is, I can't imagine how the rest of their team...

I was in front of the cashiers gathering items for my sons valentines for school I knew what I needed(as I had been here days prior) and was taking one of the last items. The store was closing and the manager decided to announce through the intercom that âseasonal area was not clearâ (meaning me in the valentines items in front of the registers) she then proceeded to say âsecurity needed to clear seasonal⌠I repeat security needed as seasonal is not clearâ I have to say this was very unnecessary as she could have kindly asked since I was right in front of her if I was ready. A few other employees laughed. My receipt says I checked out at 8:00pm closing time. After leaving and I felt ashamed I sat in my car getting ready to take off this same individual letâs a customer who had walked up to the door in and I overheard her tell him âjust because itâs you Iâll let you come and do a return. I didnât get the managers name but I just have to say I felt happy for the individual who showed up after closing hours and was allowed his return but it was clear and evident that it was more of a shaming issue for myself not to mention I had my 3 year old son with me so at the moment I said nothing because I didnât want to alarm my son with my...
   Read moreI had a very expensive autographed photo that I needed to have framed. Considered going to local frame shop, but decided to go to HL here in Yakima. I was introduced to Justin, one of the employees working in that department. I was not going to just turn the photo over until discussing with him first. The level of knowledge he possessed was readily apparent and honestly what I would have only expected at a custom frame shop. The photo was off sized and he had to be creative in successfully mounting to the best frame size available. He discussed a number of ideas and options with me and explained the advantages or disadvantages of each. I had no reservations with letting him frame the photo and the end result was outstanding. As importantly to me and more so to HL, he was one of the most professional and respectful employees I have ever interacted with. Although in this case the cost was obviously secondary to the end result of framing, I was shocked at how low the cost was compared to what I was expecting to pay. I was assuming the cost would be between $100-$200, but the cost was actually well below $100. Overall I could not have had a better retail experience.
