I noticed my previous review from last week and photos are no longer posted. While the staff were nice, this is in a drug area and should be avoided. (Update follows)
It also became apparent the MGMT did NOT maintain the hot tub, nor the pool. See photos. The pool was FILTHY with a slime. Despite the pool repair man's test strips which indicated high chlorine, I was concerned enough NOT to let my kid swim.
Customers deserve to see ALL posts when safety is involved, including my original. I'm returning to post that the morning we checked out, I called 911 due to a woman who appeared to od in her car. The night before I read about another patron finding a hyperdermic needles under the mattress in the sheets. This is a safety issue - my youngest kid and I witnessed a woman of in her car. BC the needle report follow-up indicated the hotel never notified police, I made sure to call 911 I stead of telling staff inside. The woman didn't react when I was near the car, and she seemed to gasp for air (like sleep apnea). Update: I found my original post on Expedia, so my apologies for misstating that my post was deleted.
To clarify: the od woman was sitting in her car, headlights on at 10 am in the parking lot, car running (for 30 min), and unconscious and non-responsive, which is why I called 911.
Below is a copy of my Expedia post (same location where another guest found a needle in the room, and a third experienced non-working internet back in May 2018): I'm disappointed and was hoping room 317 would be great.
Pros: The front staff are REALLY nice, informative and accommodating for room preferences (hiway side vs front of hotel, which faces a biz park and is quieter). First impressions inside are that it appears clean, the mattresses new (bedbug free - I checked), and a moderate bath size separating the bedroom from the sofa/hidden bed near the door. Lots of head space in shower, w curving curtain and nice soaps. King suite separates the area into 3 small areas w doors, compared to a studio which has no door separations. Includes mini(tiny fridge) microwave, +small bar sink.
CONS: Not kid friendly for many reasons:
A. Pool is cloudy, greenish-brown and appears to be growing something, despite string chlorine odor. See photos. You can see where someone sat or rubbed a step clean, while the rest is covered in green-eyed slime.
B. Hot tub broken (see photo of sign) Weird debris floating in cloudy water. Pool repair guy there trying to fix it, but not instructed to fix or clean pool. I asked him to inform staff or teach them how to clean the pool.
C. Kid tv channels (Disney, Cartoon Network) are not working, thus not available. Actually, nine channels are not functional (screen displays snow), when comparing it to the hotel list of channels.
D. First room in suite has major issues, esp for kids +/or ppl w sensory sensitivities: (i) section of suite with sofa + tv is an echo chamber. Square room w blank shiny walls. (ii) It also doesn't receive good air flow, so it is a diff temp than bedroom w window unit. We froze in bedroom so that two on sleeper sofa CLD be slightly cool, but were still hot. (iii) Lighting is terrible: Desk lamp is too blue, hurts eyes. Corner standing lamp is too dark and yellow. Light glares off shiny walls and affects tv viewing. Canned ceiling light is not enough, limited scope. Yellow and takes a while to brighten up.
E. Free WiFi is great, but after an hour, I got a msg that there was no internet. So now the kids can't go online for entertainment.
Considering my intent was to be here for four nights, I've cancelled all but the first night. It's not reasonable for me to move the kids this late at night for entertainment reasons. However, for safety I would.
After I found Expedia supported my concerns and another hotel (Home2) had availability and a working pool + kid friendly amenities, I made the switch. Now I've seen the other reports of hyperdermic needles and I'm glad I'm moving in the am. I can't risk my children's health. Hotel2 even dropped the price...
Read moreI decided to use this s hotel to block rooms for my wedding. In hindsight, that was an absolutely terrible decision on my part. It took multiple phone calls to speak to someone, and once I was able to speak to someone, they told me they could not do the block and that I had to contact the person in charge of the blocks at the hotel, Mr. Pattel. He was nearly impossible to get ahold of as well, and the times I was able to talk to him, he assured me that he would resolve the issues, make the block, and call me back. There were at least 3 instances where he assured me he would call me back, either because he was too busy to talk at the time or because he was going to make changes to my account, and I never once got a call back. I also stopped in at the hotel on 3 separate occasions, assuming that they would be able to help me there. Again, this was not the case, and they told me to contact Mr. Pattel, who I could not reach. I was also promised that I would get a confirmation email with all of the information I would need to be sure the block was reserved. I never received the email, and was never provided with any confirmation when I went into the hotel. All they would tell me is that the block was completed and my guests would only have to say my name to reserve a room in it. My guests were unable to find the block when they called, and/or they were told the block was full so they could not reserve within the block. In the end, only two rooms from my block were actually used, although we had 20 available. My guests had to reserve outside of the block and most likely were overcharged for their rooms, because they did not get he discounted block rate. I am extremely disappointed that I used this hotel, and if I had known how terrible the process would have been I would have never let my...
Read moreGood: The evening check-in clerk was nice, breakfast was free, free coffee in the lobby, fridge in room, good TV, good ability to control room temperature, the bed in my room was comfortable with multiple pillows to choose from, the bathroom was clean, the rate was reduced because I was bringing my husband to and from the nearby OSS hospital and staying during the days with him there. Not so good: My room was 223. The security latch on my room door was broken, the rug was obviously not vacuumed before I walked in (I picked up a handful of little visible pieces of wrappers, treat bits, bits of plastic, etc. scattered about on the rug - a vacuum would have gotten them), the lamp on the nightstand between the beds was loaded with webbing (spiders?) and dust which made me uncomfortable to touch it - but the ceiling light didn't work, the tub had big cracks which management attempted to paint over (poorly) and the area looked quite discolored (gross). Staff at front desk the next morning was often absent with people waiting at the counter; I had called in advance (and verified with desk clerk upon arrival) that eggs were part of the breakfast offerings, but there were none the next morning and people stocking the breakfast area simply said "no eggs"; when I commented to the desk clerk about the broken room security latch and ceiling light and no eggs she rolled her eyes, but no other comments like "thank you for the information" or "we'll correct that". Other than the evening check-in lady the other staff seemed rude. I felt unwelcome. I didn't go back to the front desk to change my room or go to another place to stay because I was tired and...
