I've been to the gallery portion of Creative York a few times on First Fridays, they have a great selection of local artists and always have new, interesting pieces rotating. Recently I did their Date Night Pottery Wheel Class with a group of girls. It was so fun! There's a learning curve to this but you will get the hang of it over the course of the two hours and be able to produce at least one piece of pottery! You can make however many pieces you want within within two hours, you just have to pay a small additional fee for any additional pottery you want them to fire and glaze (one piece of pottery is included with the class).
