Kennedy's Karne — Local services in Yuma

Very disappointed !!! My Wife and I heard that this meat market was a pretty good place so we decided to try Kennedy Karne in Yuma AZ. on 16th St. We go in the store on Dec. 3rd to order our Christmas Dinner, a 4-5lb Prime Rib Roast, the Butcher behind the counter said it would be a great cut of Meat, I said I want tender and juicy if I have to pay more that's fine. I offered to pay for it now and would like to pick it up on the Dec. 23rd. He said no I couldn't pay for it and you can pick it up on the 24th. It set off 2 Red Flags with me. I like to pay as I go and pick up my meat orders a couple of days early to avoid Dinner disasters so if something goes wrong there is still time to save the Day. So, here's where it starts to fall apart with a third red flag faster than lightening. My Wife goes in the Store Dec. 24th at noon to pick up our order and kid you not, He said he can't find our order. My Wife felt very embarrassed being told that in front of a store full of people listening. The Butcher said sorry, I'll go in the back and cut you a piece of meat. 20 mins. later and 10 customers later my wife was handed the package of meat. She gets home visibly upset and tells me the story as she's taking the Meat out of the package and here it comes. A frozen 4lb Prime Rib Roast, kid you not. I won't go into details what happened next, I'm guessing you can imagine. Anyways, can't remember if this is Red Flag 4,5 or 6 but here we go. 16 hours later we cook the roast, looked good, we had dinner perfect on the table and cut into the meat and a big wow, 2 big thick lines of gristle, kid you not, couldn't cut through the Prime Rib Roast without sawing through it. I'm going to end this story with a little advise and wisdom. For a Business starting in 1968 what a shocker, very sad. embarrassing my Wife in public is beyond words. Calling this place a meat market is a joke. If you have special plans for a special occasion, this is the last place you should rely on in service or quality. Pick out another place selling Meat to do your business. This is my personal final opinion, this is a store front with a knife and a freezer. I just went in to check it out, I wasn't prepared to buy nor did I need anything. I was very impressed with the store, it was very clean and neat. Some meat markets I've been to are very messy and not really clean. They had a great selection of meats and salsas and other things. They even had wagyu ribeye for $175.00. Maybe I'll get that for my last meal, right now I'll pass since I'm living on social security. They had a very helpful and nice guy working there. He answered every question I had was very patient. I recommend Kennedy's Karne if you're particular about your red meat. The butcher shop is clean, & the meat is fresh, tender, & flavorful!

I initially went to Kennedy's b/c Google said it sells carne seca & I wanted some. However, the red meat caught my attention too.

I recommend trying:

Carne seca chicali (not Manjares Machete carne seca)
