Is Sportsman's pro-gun, or? I would like to give this place four stars -- on three previous occasions, I went in, processed my online order, it was about a four-star experience. Then there's this. Sportsman's is a long drive, so I decided to do two things in one day and go to the range earlier in the day, then arrive in the afternoon here to pick up my order. With America's current crime wave I didn't want to leave my bag of pistols in the car, so I put it in a shopping cart and took it with me. A simple bag, nothing fancy. A young guy at the register went on full alert! "You don't have any firearms in that bag, do you?" Yes, yes I do, I said, nothing to hide. He asked me the same question a second time! Like didn't you hear my reply? So I replied again, yes I do, here do you want to keep this somewhere? He seems really edgy, like dude, chill a little bit. He then questions me, like some kind of investigation, "Do you have any ammunition with you?" I told him No, here can we put this bag behind the counter, because I don't want to leave this in the car. He questions me a second time, "Do you have any ammunition with you!!?" kind of excited. I replied again, NO, just like I did the first. I told him he can put this range bag behind a counter, and he kind of freaks out, "No! No! I can't touch it! Imagine if 'something' happens!" Getting weird. So I walked in the back room, he hangs up these silly signs "Gun check in progress", I start to just hand him the bag, like here just put this on a shelf, and he goes "Ok set it up on this counter" like I'm going to have to open up the bag and we are going to itemize every pistol in there? Are you kidding me?! Forget it, I took it back out to the car. Imagine if there are criminals on the drive around. Not only would I possibly lose $2000 worth of handguns, but that's 6 firearms that are now going to be in the hands of bad people. I might make a note - I wasn't acting "fishy," and the range bag was a very plain and simple one, no silly velcro straps and "tactical" stuff all over it. Just a simple, respectable bag. Again, I was just trying to do the responsible thing and not leave firearms in the car, exposed to thieves. ...
Read moreOrdered a side arm on Nov 30th. Online said it would be delivered to store Dec 6th. Called 800 number inquiring on Dec 8th. They stated to NOT trust their website as it is terrible. Call taker told me that it shows being delivered that day, gave me a UPS tracking number. I tracked, delivered on Dec 8th at 211pm. I called down there (to the Yuma store) around 5pm, female at gun counter put me on a 10 min hold to look for it, stated its not there and nowhere to be found. Of course I asked are you sure, she said she looked in the back. I asked her to speak to the MGR and she said they were on lunch, I asked her to take my number and have the MGR call me immediately upon return... NO CALL BACK. I called the 800 number again and explained what was happening and that the side arm is lost as the tracking stated delivered and sign for. They call the store... told the worker to look harder and she finally found it... under boxes that she overlooked to look under or around. How do you loose a firearm in the back of the store??? We decide to go down to the store, found a MGR... told her everything. At first she was trying to push the conversation into... the firearm was never lost and all. I quickly stopped her and said... yes it was, it was delivered and your worked failed to find it. I asked her if the worker gave her my number to call back immediately, she stated the worker did not and knew nothing about my call... WTH. Worker is a liar to customers. I then told the MGR, just give me a refund, I'll shop at Sprauges! Worst place to shop at in Yuma. I will never shop there again. ATF should investigate this place for loosing firearms in the own care. You absolutely lost a...
