Read moreBad customer service. I should have known as I'm walking into the store and overheard an old man arguing with an employee about how long he's been waiting for service and the call for help phone just keeps ringing and ringing. I thought nothing of it at the time and went to the power tool aisle. I couldnt find a drill combo on sale so I asked a 20 something year old employee if she could call for someone to help me and a minute so later I heard the overhead page go out. 5 minutes passed. Not knowing if maybe I had missed the employee in the large area or they had forgotten, I went back and asked her to call someone to help me and she said "didnt I just do that?" She said she would call someone again but no overhead page went out this time. 5 more minutes passed. During this whole time not a single employee had walked down the aisle I was on. I grabbed the giant rolling ladder in the aisle and decided to climb up and look for the item myself. I realized I would either find what I needed or someone would come over and scold me for being on the ladder at which point I could get them to help me. No one came. To make matters worse after several minutes of searching up on the ladder I couldn't find what I wanted so i was back to square one. I went and asked a different 20 something year old employee if he could call someone to help me and he said he would and walked away. I saw where he walked over to an older employee sitting behind a table scanning items. They talked for a bit and the kid walked away but didnt say anything to me. I walked over to the older employee and asked him if someone could check to see if the store had my item. He told me he was in the middle of scanning some items and couldnt stop the process but would help me when he was done. I asked him if there was anyone else who could just check the computer to at least see if the store had the item in stock and he became upset telling me he already told me he couldn't help me because he was in the middle of something but would help when he was finished. I left the store leaving my other unpurchased items ($500 worth) behind. Bad communication all around. Was that old man trying to tell me that out of a massive box store with dozens if not hundreds of employees only he was capable of helping me? Also why dont they have the clueless inexperienced basically children employees scanning the items in the back and have the older more experienced employees on the sales floor since they are apparently the only ones who know anything. Lastly I understand that with everything going on these days stores are understaffed and wait times have probably increased. If thats the case those younger employees could have told me its going to be a 10-15 minute wait instead of just sending me off into the ether with a hope and a prayer. Bad all around. To be fair I have had good interactions in the past but it only took today and I'm a Lowes customer now. Wish I could...
Read moreI came in to buy a toolbox for my boyfriend as a surprise for his birthday. I looked the item up online where it stated that there was limited stock and decided to come in person to see if one was available. I walked around the two spots in the store where the toolboxes are on display and did not see one. I get in line to get help and they call for someone to help me over the radio. I wait 10 minutes before going back and asking the lady who is supposed to help me out. Turns out the guy I was waiting on must have forgotten about me because he had opened a new lane in the check out and was helping other customers. I get in his line to go and get help when I see another lady working who I stop to ask for help. I had the toolbox with the product number pulled up on my phone, which I showed to her and asked if she would look up in her system. She made me walk back to the toolbox areas I went to prior and said if they weren't here, that they didn't have one. She also preceded to write me off by pointing to one and saying, "well this one looks similar". The only thing it had in common was the brand name.
I had to reveal to my boyfriend what his surprise was as I now needed his truck to drive to the El Centro Home Depot where they guaranteed me that one was there. After ranting about the garbage customer service I received, he decided to call the Home Depot here in Yuma (which, by the way, was a 45 minute phone call) to where we learned that ACTUALLY THERE WAS ONE. Needless to say I was FUMING!!! The customer service here was terrible both days, in person and on the phone. Even after telling them that we would be coming to get it, we still had to wait 20 minutes in store for them to bring it down. If my boyfriend wasn't so dead-set on this specific tool box, I would have taken my business somewhere else. I have never dealt with so many incompetent people in one store in my entire life. GO TO LOWES. You will be saving yourself a lot of time and...
