A little late to the party when May Kitchenware recently opened a new branch and every Hanoian cafe hopper is extensively posting about that one. I still have yet to upload their branch that went viral last year, haha. This happens when I don't post in real time.
Built inside an old French villa just southeast of West Lake, it’s half artisan ceramics boutique, half cozy café, and somehow manages to be both without losing an ounce of style. You walk into a space filled with tasteful, restaurant-worthy ceramic dishes, plates, bowls, teapots, and two actual trees growing through the floor. Yes, trees. It’s giving zen garden meets vintage collector’s dream. I even thought "Hmmm maybe I should purchase tableware here when I have my own place"
The café is upstairs and feels like a breezy little escape from the city chaos. The front room is air-conditioned, but I found myself gravitating toward the semi-outdoor balcony for that soft natural light and antique charm. Every corner is styled to perfection, with mismatched chairs, quiet nooks, and enough aesthetic warmth to make you forget you’re technically here for coffee. Speaking of which, the drinks are fine, not the star of the show, but that's ok I can't expect perfect coffee...

Everything we ordered was delicious, but the croissant completely blew my mind – one of the best I’ve ever had. And the salted coffee was easily one of the best I’ve tried in all of Vietnam.
