I recently visited Tara Spa and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, my blind therapist and the receptionist were both kind and spoke English well. I appreciated that they provided a spa consultation form to indicate my preferences, and my therapist did her best to make me feel comfortable during the treatment.
However, I have a few areas of constructive feedback. My therapist did not wash my feet or wipe my body with a damp cloth at the beginning, which I found unhygienic since she would later massage my face, and I had walked from my hotel to the spa. The treatment rooms are quite narrow, with three treatment beds less than a meter apart, making it challenging for the therapists to move around.
Lastly, after the treatment, a different receptionist handled the payment and seemed hesitant to give me a feedback form after hearing my lukewarm response. I also wanted to tip my therapist, but the receptionist said she would give it to her on my behalf. I hope it reached her, as I left a generous amount.
Overall, my experience at Tara Spa was just okay. There were some positive aspects, but the spa could improve on a few key points to ensure a more hygienic and enjoyable visit for everyone. If you’re expecting an experience on par with Thailand’s massage shops you might be slightly disappointed as they are not there yet in terms of spa standards, flow...
Read moreI’m so glad I found this massage spa! I got the Tara special massage with oil and filled out a paper on my preferences and areas of focus. My masseuse (I forgot her name but it might have been Surana?- apologies) focused on these areas and worked on my knots while not applying painful pressure. I’m quite ticklish but she was able to sense this and adjusted the massage accordingly without me needing to say anything. She used firm pressure that both relaxed me and worked out my sore spots. She cleansed her hands before moving from my body to my hands which was nice. Please visit this spa as they have a great purpose, the staff are very friendly, and you’ll have a great massage. They also get bonus points for the great pandan tea served after...
Read moreThe massage was good but the service was sucks. They didn’t tell me upfront they don’t receive card payment. I ended up need to go find atm after the massage finished. They didn’t tell me upfront that they don’t have female therapist. And the worst part, one of the staff took my flip flop. I couldn’t find my flip flop after I finished the massage and wanted to leave the place. One of the staff tried to replace my missing flip flop with the one they had. I refused and wanted to get my flip flop back. If I hadn’t refuse they will just don’t care. I finally got my flip flop back after I kept saying to them I want my flip flop back. Such shame. They really have good massage actually. I will not come back again. Too much...
