Great Basin Adventure Theme park was created in the 1980s at Rancho San Rafael Regional Park. Exhibits included panning for gold, pony rides and a playground which you csn still play on! This isn’t as ancient site, more of a forgotten past. Nature reclaims all in time. #Nevada #Reno #themepark #abandoned #forgottenplaces #urbex #adventure #greatbasinnationalpark #deserthiking #hikersoftiktok #fyp #fypシ

This is such a marvelous park to go to. You can do so much here and the beauty is stunning to say the least. If you enjoy walking or jogging this is the perfect place to do it. There are different walking trails to take, each path lined with alluring foliage that is a sight to see. There's a beautiful little lake that you can walk around that glistens in the sun during the day. There's multiple animals you might catch a glimpse of while you're there, but make sure when you're looking for animals and smelling the flowers you watch for snakes. My personal favorite part of San Rafael is the sunflower garden which is something you have to see for yourself. This park is perfect for walking, walking your dog, and especially for taking pictures. Along with the walking trails, there is also a little farm area that may have chickens, sheep, and even horses. It depends on what season you visit the park in though, around the end of summer you can't see as many animals at the barn. Overall, this is one of the best parks I have ever been to, and I've been all across the country. If you have little children, they can be entertained at the dinosaur playground which has dinosaur themed playground equipment. If you're ever in the area of Reno, Rancho San Rafael is a perfect place to stop by and enjoy!

The walk around is nice, and the area is gorgeous. They have a play area that is fenced in, so you can keep track of your little ones. The play area has lots of things to keep the kids entertained. It's unique! Not a lot of parks offer so much to keep their imaginations wandering. We were very impressed!
If you bring a dog, there is a spot to let them off of the leash to wander and explore. Keep in mind that even though the majority of the area is fenced in, the fence does not meet the water and there is a large area they can run through to get back on to the main walk.
There are ducks, geese and lots of squirrels running around. So be prepared for your dog to run off to try to make friends.
There is a place where you can leave cans of food for those who need it. ❤️
A new addition is being added on for anyone who truly appreciates America and all we stand for. When we went there, they were preparing the area for the unveiling, I believe, on July 1st. Stop in and check it out. It brought proud tears to my eyes. The Constitution, Articles of Confederation, and the Declaration of Independence are included. It's not just part of history class. There is a reason they were made. Read them. They apply to today as much as they did when they were written. So much to be thankful for.
The Marina has places for fishing and from what we heard from a local fisherman, they keep the water well stocked with fish.
There's a swimming area and geocache spots. Part of the marina is right next to Legends.
Check it out. There's something for everyone.

I love this park. Despite its large size, it's easy to miss if you don't know it's there. There's a large body of water which is filled naturally by ground water. In fact, two million gallons are pumped out each day. There are nice paved walking/biking paths with lights and benches along the way. Beautiful trees and sandy beaches with volleyball nets. Lots of geese, ducks, and seagulls. Even a dog beach where dogs can swim. There's a seasonal snack bar and it would be nice to see a more formal restaurant/bar open since Anchor's Bar and Grill closed. A very beach feel in an otherwise non-beach area. Cute homes along the water, some with their own small dock.
