I posted a review a few days ago about the addition of the fence to the edge of the water. I went back today hoping there were still openings in the fence but saw there are “no swimming”, “no loud music” signs. HOWEVER, people with access to boats parked their boats directly on the shore, swam, and played loud music. It’s unfortunate that access to the water is only for those that can afford to break the rules.

My kids are easy to please and love this location to wade and swim 🏊♂️ in the water for FREE. They play with the sand and enjoy the waves from boats 🚣🏼♂️ and jet skis. Great place for a family cookout! They have a lot of mature trees 🌳 for good shade, a well covered gazebo and a park that’s partially shaded.

Peaceful, beautiful and has a lot too offer.
Got kids: basketball court and jungle gym
Metal detector: sands to search through
Family in town: gazebo and small pit with enough room for parking.
Volleyball net as well

Nice park with great swimming area brought my dog and he swam in the lake too! Also a little playground by the lake. There was some glass and trash to be wary of but nothing too terrible. enjoyed the trip!

My 15 year old son and I came out here to fish. He caught something. I sat in the shade. We had fun. It's free and really large. Lots of shade trees. But no fishing in the shade.

My son and I spend a lot of time fishing here. It is usually pretty clean but there are people that don't feel they need to clean up after themselves. The day after Easter was especially bad. There were crushed plastic eggs, plastic grass, food containers, discarded toys, etc. all over. The park crews do their best and are constantly out there cleaning up and maintaining the landscape.
There was a homeless camp behind the park, but it was recently removed by the police and cleanup crew. There is always a mix of different types of people out there, but we have never encountered anyone out to harm people. The wildlife is very curious about people, and we have encountered many different species on trips. There are squirrels, blue heron, turtles, ducks, snakes, and many different types of other birds. The one thing that bothers me is the restroom situation. There are 3 portables at the main parking lot by the boat ramp, but no others in the rest of the park. It can be a long walk if you are utilizing the eastern majority of the park. Overall we really enjoy the place and have created a lot of good fishing memories here.

Quick Overview: This park is dedicated green space and a walking trail right on the shore of Lake Ray Hubbard. There is no playground, but if your kids need a change of scenery the view of the water and PGB Turnpike bridge up close is fun. The paved walking trail is only about .5 miles, but there are a few docks along the way to stop and see the water. Be warned that there is no fence along the water line, so if you have runners or dare devils this is not the park for them!

This place really isn’t that bad except for the parking lot is like driving on the surface of the moon. The Porta potties are running over although there is an on-site service deal here today. I guess they clean these out once a year whether they need them or not. 😂
I guess some good fish out here sometimes you just got overlooked all the homeless people sleeping in their cars, but they don’t bother nobody but you’ll see the same ones out here week after week after week y’all get a job!!! Lazy MF’s
Also, if you look at the pictures that I posted, the bow wrap is almost inaccessible. We had a lot of rain and storms this past weekend and this is what happens every time city of Garland just cleaned all this up two weeks ago..

Make sure you have a floater on your fishing pole. Your hook can easily get stuck in some areas. ,👎
No swimming areas.👎
Could be dangerous for toddlers since there is no fence from the sidewalk and the water. 👎
Good place for fishing. But haven't caught any after being there for a while. 👍
I didn't see any restroom around. 👎
Has a beautiful view of the sunset.
Good for picnic. Nice trail.👍👍
Great place for couples and kids to walk around and fish. 👍
The wood on the fishing dock is in good condition but may need to be updated.👍👎
Parking is ok. Did not see a parking lot so you have to park near the street. 👍👎
Total overall: Good place to go.

This park was a big part of my childhood. Usually there isn't that much trash, if any, it's very walkable, provides a nice view of the water, and there is a pier. Many stop by to bike and walk along the path near the water. There are trees for shade too and lots of open space between the water and the road for a picnic on the grass. There are also picnic tables, trash cans, and tiny grills around the area too. Sometimes you might catch a glimpse of some wildlife, such as herons and ducks.
