Maybe, on my part, it was a bad idea to have oolong tea and sashimi at 10pm on a Wednesday night. But I didn't think of that since those options were said to be available. I just really hope we weren't ignored because we dressed and spoke differently. I felt like a failure as an older brother, having tried to take one last chance to treat his younger brother to some good sashimi on a last night in Japan only to have to leave the country with a bad taste of service :((
Me and my brother ordered sashimi with two cups of oolong tea at 10pm. The waiter informed us that their Winter Amberjack was sold out. We went with our orders anyway with whatever sashimi they had.
After 15 mins, we asked another waiter about our orders. After checking, he returned and told us to hold on (in Japanese). After 15 more mins, we asked the first waiter for our orders again. Another waiter (a third one) came and told us that their sashimi was sold out and that we could order tuna instead. I asked about our two cups of oolong tea, they couldn't give us a response, so me and my brother left because we felt ignored and it was getting late too.
It was our last night in Japan, and we were hoping to get sashimi because my brother hadn't had any sashimi in Japan throughout his trip. Seeing that this place would be open till late and with good reviews, we gave it a shot for supper. Unfortunately, we did not receive food or updates...
ย ย ย Read moreCame here in March 2025. Ordered 2 of their set lunch menus for relatively cheap at under ยฅ900 each. You can select the amount of rice you want for free. Also ordered fatty tuna sashimi for about ยฅ1300 which came with 6 decent sized pieces.
The tempura wasn't as crisp as I would expect considering it's fried immediately and it's not that much tempura that you get. It's filling enough though with the rice.
The clam miso soup was a bit salty but flavour was still good. Oddly, I think part of their decor or atmosphere is to have broken clam shells all over the ground...strange to me as it crunches under your feet.
We were seated right by the bathrooms which wasn't great and you can see right into the kitchen. They had 2 buckets of tempura batter sitting on the ground which doesn't seem that sanitary by Japanese standards.
Mostly locals at this place. They weren't particularly friendly with us tourists but weren't...
ย ย ย Read moreJust had dinner at Tempura Daikichi Namba today, and it was a great experience! Even though there was a queue outside, the service was super quickโthe staff were really efficient in managing the crowd.
I ordered the set rice bowl, and the portion was HUGEโdefinitely enough for a grown man. I also got tempura shitake mushrooms, eggplant, and a clam soup. The tempura was super fresh because they fry it right after you order.
One unique thing here? You can throw your clam shells on the floor! The whole floor was covered in shells, which was kinda cool and unexpected. Every ร la carte order already comes with rice and dipping sauce, so no need to worry about ordering extras.
They have an English menu, so just ask the staff if you need one. The team also speaks some English and were really friendly.
Overall, highly recommend this place if youโre in Namba and craving crispy, fresh tempura with a fun,...
