Fine location with a huge load of show off details, fancy drink glasses with average cooktails quality. Some are very well done, some are just as simple that nothing can go wrong.
The fancy fully loaded shelves are in fact up to 60 percent only average supermarket beverages bottles, most of them half emptied, a few good tequilas, a few good vodkas, a few good gins.. But nothing to be surprised or even fairly compensated with the paid prices, which are, above average compared to the local bars (even with bars in Recoleta).
Buenos Aires Zombie, half Kilo fancy ceramic obelisco. Tasted like juice, super fresh.
Cuptena, a fancy sangria. I was expecting a piece of apple to be completed. I left a teardrop for the complexity of it.
Nubes del Oeste, surprisingly great! Extremely fancy presentation with a 40cm tall baloon. Take care not make a mess to have this classic drink.
Mai Thai, well done. A Google recipe and the correct ingredients help to achieve this effortless. Creativity was not required to achieve a different drink apart from the classic, but all the effort was focused on a half kilo ceramic fancy glass.
The music was fine, charts mostly, spotify on action! The lightning was super comfy, the waiters and barmen were also...
Read moreMy wife and I wound up having a great time at Presidente despite a rocky start, thanks to our awesome bartender, Juan. We arrived at opening and the place was empty, however, after being asked by 3 different people if we had a reservation, and stating 3 times we didn't but prefered a table, we were told to sit at the bar (pretentious/annoying). The decor is posh (giant chandeliers), but nothing very unique about the ambiance. The drink preparation was quite slow, and the initial martini was lackluster, but this was made up for by the friendliness of the aforementioned Juan, who even took the time to show us around the place including the private back room, and whose subsequent drinks more than made up for the first. Juan's old fashioned was top notch, but his Zombie served in a flaming skull was truly world class and made the place deserving of its reputation. Also, a cool, friendly, smart bartender who goes the extra mile to carry on a conversation with you for 2 hours while you enjoy his great cocktails is excellent service in my book. We wish Juan the best opening his own tiki...
Read moreWe pre booked hoping they would treat us better, naaah. They forced us to sit on the enclosed side of the bar where there was no air no circulation and a small useless conditioner fan in the corner. I asked several times could we move but the waiter pretended he didn’t know what i was talking about. I asked again another person could we sit and the bar and they said nO even though we had booked days ago and there seemed like there was space. While we ate I had sweat running down my back and face. The staff could see we were clearly suffering , my friend felt sick from the heat and couldn’t finish her wine or food. I felt dizzy and we quickly paid the bill and left. Also this place seems a very couple place so don’t go if you are a group of friends who want to meet people. And finally. The staff who definitely don’t like working there. Thanks for our painful dinner, We won’t be back...
