I recently visited this Iranian restaurant and unfortunately had a disappointing experience that I feel compelled to share.
Service: While the staff were polite and friendly, there were concerning issues with their service standards. Most notably, when serving tea, the servers would hold the cups by the rim where customers place their lips, rather than by the handle or base. This is a basic hygiene concern that shouldn't occur in any dining establishment.
Food Quality: The authenticity and quality of the food was a significant letdown. We ordered Ghormeh Sabzi, a classic Iranian dish, but it was not prepared according to traditional Iranian recipes. More concerning was that the beef in the stew was undercooked. I would not recommend this restaurant if you're looking to introduce foreign guests to authentic Iranian cuisine.
Rice: The one highlight of our meal was the rice, which was cooked to perfection and quite delicious.
Value: At 12,000 AMD for two teas and two orders of Ghormeh Sabzi with rice, the price point is unjustifiably high given the overall quality of food and service. There are better options at this price range in the area.
Recommendation Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant in its current state. While the rice was excellent and the staff were courteous, the fundamental issues with food preparation, hygiene practices, and value for money make it difficult to justify a return visit. I hope the management takes note of these concerns and makes the necessary...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at a charming Persian restaurant in Yerevan, and I must say, it was a delightful experience from start to finish. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with a cozy and inviting atmosphere that immediately made me feel at home. The management, led by a warm and welcoming gentleman, ensured that every guest felt valued and well taken care of.
Over the course of several visits, I had the opportunity to sample a variety of dishes, and I was consistently impressed with the quality and flavor of each one. Whether it was the aromatic kebabs, the flavorful stews, or the fragrant rice dishes, every bite was a testament to the skill and expertise of the chefs.
I particularly appreciate the attention to detail and authenticity in each dish, which truly transported me to the heart of Persia with every taste.
I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to both Persian people longing for a taste of home and to anyone else seeking an unforgettable culinary experience. Trust me, you won't be...
Read moreI had high hopes for Phoenix Restaurant, but it turned out to be one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had. The food was absolutely terrible—stale, dry, and clearly not fresh. It tasted as if it had been warmed up multiple times before being served. There was no flow in the restaurant, and it felt like they were just reheating old dishes until someone finally bought them.
On top of that, the prices were outrageous. We were overcharged by far, paying nearly double or even triple for a tasteless, stale plate. You can get much better quality food at nearby restaurants like Sherep and Lavash, both of which offer fresher meals, a better atmosphere, and more reasonable prices.
To non-Persians wanting to try authentic Persian cuisine—this is NOT the place for it. Save your time and money.
The restaurant itself is just as bad as the food. It’s located in a dark, smelly basement with rusty furniture, making for an unwelcoming and unpleasant dining experience. Overall, I would never return and wouldn’t recommend this...
