We walked in without a reservation and asked for a table in the non smoking section @ 7pm. We were told everything is occupied after 8 - we asked if we could get one in the smoking section and were given an abrupt negative.
As we were walking out - someone rushed back and said they might be able to accommodate us and took the effort and brought a table for us in the smoking section, well appreciated. As I suspected, not a single extra guest came to either of the sections - we were there till 9pm- all empty tables stayed with a reserve sign- not too surprised as it’s a common service issue in many establishments - but I was hoping for more sense of hospitality here.
More annoyingly: we were never offered to be moved to the non smoking section as the night went along, and the cherry on top was the fact that many smokers from adjacent halls would come to the table next to us and sit and smoke freely for an hour even more making the place impossible to sit in and be a mere smoking cabin.
The food was OK- I cant complain- we liked most of the stuff- though for the price and statute I would expect some extra nudge to things. Similar food I have happened to enjoy in almost any Lebanese joint - so didn’t get the sense why I should pay premium for the Mayrig touch.
The night was sparked with incredibly loud live music- which coupled with the oversmoked room and smoking groups roaming around you- felt like a regular Armenian wedding “hall” .
So, 4 to the food, 3 to the value for money hospitality and 1 for the overall atmosphere.
I hope the place will improve and live to the promise of excellence the establishment...
Read moreMayrig in Yerevan is an absolute delight. The restaurant exudes a wonderful, fancy vibe that makes it perfect for a special occasion or even a quick, high-end break. The atmosphere is sophisticated yet welcoming, with elegant decor and a buzz that feels both lively and comfortable. It's clear that a lot of thought has gone into creating a space that feels both luxurious and authentic. We visited for a business meeting and were thoroughly impressed. The setting was perfect—upscale enough for a professional discussion, but relaxed enough to feel at ease. After our meeting, we decided to take a quick break, and the watermelon we ordered was not just refreshing, but also a fantastic, simple treat. The quality of the food and service, even for something as simple as a fruit plate, spoke volumes about the care they put into every detail. Mayrig is a top-tier choice for its great food, impeccable service, and a fantastic,...
Read moreAvoid! This place is made to scam tourists by charging them things they didn't order under the pretext of language barrier but once you complaint they magically starts speaking English and in loud voice to intimidate you. Such a shame from this kind of a management who respects no customers and takes advantage from. At least a manager could have checked on us but they care only for the money. The funny thing is that they tell you to tip them because the bill doesn't include service charge, they tell not ask politly, what a cheap way from a supposedly high end restaurant
We have been at this restaurant in other countries and we have been always impressed by their quality and service yet Yerevan is another story. In addition the portions are tiny while on the menu they look much bigger, another way to scam people. Taste is not impressive, worst Mente ever and the sujuk has no...
