Bar Torino — Restaurant in Adelaide

I had been here a while ago and it wasn't great. Drinks were nice, service was good. So I thought I'd give it another go this evening.

Pretty quiet for a Friday night, maybe due to tasting Australia. Or maybe due to the very average menu offering. I'd say 70% of the menu is deep fried and pretty average, No real care for flavour or technique.... or seasoning. The risotto balls were not even freshly cooked ( from what I could tell as the crumbs were cold and soft). Deep fried olives were boring along side most of everything we ordered. Drinks were good but food was such a waste of money. I think what blew my mind was $16 for Zucchini flowers....... I get it! wages and COG are high, but then use what talent the chefs have and create some interesting dishes, I mean HEY! You might as well, since your all already there.

When the Waiter or Waitress asks "how was everything" its very hard to just go on with a rant as it wasn't the FOH fault the chefs could not come up with an interesting menu. So we won't be back, there's so many more interesting places to go these days...

Consistently excellent share dishes, drinks and service

We needed Friday night drinks and tasty food and were pleased to score a table at the bar [Covid spacing] where we relaxed and enjoyed great service, drinks and food. The Covid check-in QR code was conveniently positioned on the food menu

Mismatch pints were still $10 and Voyager sparkling was $11 per glass

Our food arrived quickly - we enjoyed

Anchovy toast, whipped ricotta, pickled cucumber [$5] - perfect starter

Kingfish ceviche, coconut, lime, chilli, green tomato [$21] - delicious

Abrolhos islands scallops, green chilli, pumpkin seeds, lime [$6] - a little chilli dominant but good value-4-money

Casarecce, zucchini peos, broccolini, lemon mascarpone, fontina, pangrattato [$24] - a very generous dish we shared

The staff handled the bustle very well, ensuring guests waiting outside for tables were brought in and seated when tables had been cleaned - high quality, friendly service

The feed me menu was divine, a great selection of food, plenty of it, and all dishes were delicious. The cocktails are a quirky twist on the classics which my group appreciated, and I appreciated being able to drink a Riesling from my home town in NZ.

Choosing Bar Torino for my birthday made a big difference! The food, drinks and service were impeccable. I also want to pass on my appreciation for how well you handled my friends dietary requirements, she was really happy.
