I had a poor experience today. I ordered their GF penne and it was undercooked. I bet we all know what undercooked GF pasta is like 🥴 I accepted it as I was on a time limit, but asked our waitress to let the chef know that GF pasta needs to be checked as two minutes can be the difference between yucky hard pasta and sloppy pasta. The chef asked the waitress to let me know that he cooks his pasta like a real Italian and if I want it different I need to order it differently.
I also got almost instant incredible stomache pains & vommited twice on my two hour drive home! They were told I am coeliac and offered no kind of warning of cross contamination. So basically, they provide GF food, but they don’t actually care if your pasta was edible & worth $31 or if it makes you sick. Since posting a review for local coeliacs, I have discovered several people have had bad experiences as well, or been told that they’re not coeliac friendly. Had we been told this upfront, I would not have ordered food here. This is poor training. If you can’t cater for us, tell us at the time we inform you of our need, we don’t leave bad reviews for good information. Fortunately I have only experienced a small contamination, but this will have a significant affect on my health for the next two weeks during which time my body wont be able to absorb vital nutrients. I eat out a lot, I’ve only once before had a chef/kitchen be this ignorant. The waitress who brought our food,...
Read moreMy friend highly recommended this place as she often dines here. We made a booking for 5 people 2 weeks in advance for Saturday night 7pm (there was a restriction of 10 people due to covid19). We rocked up and turns out that they didn't have our booking. We showed them that we had indeed dialled their number on our mobile phone and only then did they look into it further. They discovered that the booking was made for Friday (day before). They wouldn't own up to their error - we were sure we said Saturday because there were two of us there when the phone call was made. So here we were standing inside the restaurant frantically ringing different places to see if they had a spot available for 5. Meanwhile a couple had walked in and said they had a booking for 2. So it turns out that they too were put down on the Friday booking! The waitress offered them a spot outside (I think at a later time) - to which the patrons declined. The waitress apologised to the couple. And here we were still trying to find a restaurant who would let us in. Fair enough if you made a mistake. No one is perfect and mistakes do happen. However my annoyance comes down to no apology being offered whatsoever. Rude waitress who shrugged us off like we were in the way. I don't care how good your food is, service is EVERYTHING!...
Read moreDinner Saturday night, the place is beautifully decorated with lots of character, there were a lot of table in such a tight space, the service was good as well.. entree was the pizza dough balls with ragu on top, this was really good not something I’ve had before. Main.. pork sausage creamy pasta. The sausage was flavourful but that’s where it ended.. the pasta was undercooked and they needed something to cut through the creamyness of the dish.. the porketta.. sounded good.. but omg it was just bacon on a plate with potato and pizza strips on the side.. too many carbohydrates one plate with a small side of aoli I think it was,, the serving was huge.. as was our dissapointment.. as we were going to a show afterwards we couldn’t go desert but had a cannoli on the way out and the shells were soft.: only a tiny bit of crunch..
Toilets were dirty, the women’s had a change table with chairs stacked up against it.,, as a mum with an infant you need to pick up your game there as that looked filthy and careless move your storage somewhere else and actually...
