Firstly , let's say that I was under the impression that this was going to be a $$ restaurant, but really it should be considered $$$ . The casual setting , limited space between the tables, no table cloths, basic toilets and no coat hanging by the waiters, no explanation of the menu dishes, all point to a lower price point, dining experience. But @ $45+ mains ,$70+ wines, is on the $$$ for me. Others may think differently. The food varied from having good ingredients to basic ones , providing tasty dishes but really were not worth the price. The gnocchi was dissappointing with very basic ingredients, and the sauce underwhelming. The trout, again quite basic with using sliced trout instead of portions. The Lamb saved the experience with tasty, rich flavours and well presented . And the lemon tart was delicious though the ice-cream was too heavily infused with spice pieces , for my liking. Lastly being asked to leave for the next patrons, did make us feel like we were being rushed out for the next round . So 2 hours is not enough for $120+ /person , with no time for coffee or liqueur's. Overall , I enjoyed my night with my friends, but the quality of the dining experience did not match the price. I would not go...

Great dining experience just outside the heart of Adelaide's CBD; a farm-to-table style restaurant that hits home with classic (yet elevated) flavours

Herringbone is a restaurant I've been looking forward to coming for some time now and the experience was exactly what I expected. Located just on the outskirts of Adelaide's business district, this restaurant goes back to basics and elevates them to the maximum level The farm-to-table style focuses more on getting the most out of its ingredients rather than overcomplicating a dish, and I loved every bit of that. I think there's a lot of strength that comes with doing more with less

Every element of the food was incredible - the meats were delicious/tender, the sides were unique/flavourful and everything was served with clear passion. Combine this with friendly staff and a welcoming home-style environment and you have a great night out

Places like this speak testimonies to Adelaide's growing good culture, particularly outside the heart of the city. I loved it here and will definitely be back; hopefully steak is on the menu next time (that's...

The menu is superb. Restrained, not pretentious, no ego, not 5000 choices, just good, wholesome, quality food. While I am a fussy gnocchi eater (I think my gnocchi is the best), I had to admit that the porcini mushroom gnocchi was so beautifully executed, cooked to perfection with a great balance of flavours. The lamb was delicious, again, no weird, over-the-top excessive ingredients, just classy, tasty food. The hummus was stunning, I over-dosed on the focaccia and the salmon’s flavours bounced around in my mouth with delight.

Our waiter was so nice – big shout-out to him (sorry didn’t ask his name), and the food arrived on time – in a really nice restaurant setting.

I can’t find anywhere who your chefs are, but THANK YOU for your skill. Everything was cooked to perfection, and I loved how I wasn’t served a wanky-ego on a plate. So wholesome, so tasty.

I've had friends visit at all times of the year, and it seems they are...

You know when Ken (from Barbie movie) has to go back into his house and yells out "SUBLIME!" Before coming back and acting all cool. That was me on every one of these dishes. I ran out of compliments for those thangs. This is my second visit, and it was amazing as the first. Fantastic service, fantastic food, cozy atmosphere. I recommend: Home made bread; Capocolla with peppers and mozzarella; Baked shark bay scallop; Gnocchi Alla putanesca; Fleurieu lamb shoulder (Bee's knees); and Brule lemon tart. Selection of wines was lovely and some nice/interesting non-alcoholic drinks are also available! My only gripe was that the waitress was like, that's a lot of food! Please, you don't know me like that, I will literally order every thing. However this comment did dissuade me from ordering another side to go with the mains, regretsssss. And one last comment on the tart. It will change your life. I ascended. Delish! Hahah!

Fantastic meal at Herringbone for a large group of 10. We had the lunch menu for $65 pp. It is on the expensive side, but if it's in your budget, go for it. For example, their lamb main is $56, which is about $20-$25 more than I'd pay as an individual meal. But a sharing meal for $65 is ok. We had the semi-outdoor area to ourselves, which includes an undercover tree, so a fun experience. Great service and they made sure of dietary needs at the start. The absolute star was the pumpkin hummus with pine nuts with amazing focaccia. All the other dishes were good, with lots of care put into them but nothing I'd order again. The servings could have been bigger for the price. $65 for lunch and most dishes were 3 between ten of us, so I was still hungry at the end. Would I return? Probably not, just due to the price point and size of the dishes, but I'm glad I went.
