I recently organised a birthday party for my husband at Kahani Restaurant in Glenelg, and I couldn't be more thrilled with the entire experience! From the moment we arrived, the ambiance was inviting and warm, setting the perfect tone for our celebration.
The food was absolutely fantastic! Each dish was a delightful explosion of flavors, and my guests couldn't stop raving about it. The menu offered a wonderful variety, catering to all tastes, and every dish that came out was beautifully presented. It was clear that a lot of thought and care went into each dish, making the dining experience truly memorable.
The service at Kahani was nothing short of exceptional—definitely a 7-star experience! The staff was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. They made sure that our needs were met without being intrusive, which contributed to a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for everyone.
In addition to the fantastic food and service, the location of Kahani is ideal. Situated in the heart of Glenelg, it’s easily accessible and adds a vibrant touch with beautiful beach views, Plus, parking was a breeze, with ample spaces in basement , making it convenient for our guests.
Overall, I highly recommend Kahani Restaurant for any special occasion. The combination of delicious food, stellar service, and a prime location made my husband's birthday celebration truly unforgettable. Thank you, Kahani, for making our...

The staff were friendly and humble and the chef adjusted the dishes to meet our celiac requirements.
The food was delicious and it reminded me of food back in India, where no one ask you if you want your food “ hot, medium or spicy”.
The taste was on point and spices in control.
Palak Patta chat was good but I am glad that I had better versions back in Melbourne 🙃
We ordered veg kebab platter and flavours exploded in mouth. Mushroom galouti kebab is close or exactly same as you get in bylanes of Lucknow khanewali gali. Melbourne needs Chef’s secret recipe. Dahi kebab were crispy controlled in spices and soothing to palate.
For mains we ordered Shahi Paneer which I would say suited to Australian palate 😀. Naans were equally good and thin. Arrival of Cooker mutton curry on table was dramatic and I can say same about it’s flavour. Mutton curry was typically cooker style curry and it reminded me of back home.
If you are visiting Adelaide, I would 100% recommend this place for quiet Dinner, enjoying sunset if you can though we missed as we were...

I ordered the chicken kebab sampler, and it was atrocious. The chicken was dry, as if it had been prepared earlier and simply reheated. Absolutely unacceptable.
Next up was the mutton curry. While the mutton itself was cooked well (yes, they can make something edible), the meat selection was subpar for $28, and the curry was excessively salty. When I mentioned this, they simply reheated it with added water, ruining the overall texture of the curry.
Finally, the chef's special dal makhni was edible, but once again, it suffered from the same issue of excessive salt. When I complained, they added extra cream and served it again, further compromising the dish.
It would be a disgrace to Indian cuisine to label this establishment as an Indian fine dining restaurant. The so-called "chef" should at least consult YouTube to learn the basics of cooking and tasting before daring to...
