Today we decided to have some Chinese food for our late lunch at Kingdom, we arrived around 2pm and there was some other couple tables too .. so it wasn't busy at all. When we came a waiter gave us a yumcha menu, after we filled it out we called a waiter to take our order. There was couple staff near us but no one attend to our call until a guy (assumed as a manager) asked a girl waiter to take the order, but the girl waiter seems to refused, i dont know why but luckly there's another guy waiter came to take our order. When we gave our order paper, the guy didn't confirm what food that we ordered or even look at the order paper, he just went and gave it to the previous girl waiter, she's now on register. Long story short, we waited and waited until 30 minutes, we even didn't get asked what do we want for drink. Until I had to ask other girl waiter if we can have some water. Communication was not good because of language barrier. After 5 minutes later not any of our order come. It's yumcha menu, not a la carte menu that you got to cook into order. It's ridiculous! So we called the waiter again ( the other girl waiter that served us drink) to please check on our order, then she answered straight away " 10 minutes". How on earth she can say 10 minutes without even check to the kitchen about our order. Unbelievable. Finally the manager heard and went to the kitchen to check, then few minutes later he found out that our order haven't been sent to the kitchen so that whole time we were just waiting for nothing! It was 2.45pm and we have a daughter that hasn't eat anything. We cancelled the order cause honestly I don't even bother to eat anymore. The worse thing was we were sitting in front of few staff and waiters, but no one care to attend to us or even have a tiny bit of conciousness about what happens with their customer in front of them. None. They were just chit chat to each other, even water we had to ask. Mistakes happens sometimes, we understand that, we had experienced before when our order got missed, but it was understanable because the restaurant was packed and they doing a la carte menu, but this one, I don't even know what to say anymore, its just ridiculously stupid and so disappointing. Stepped into restaurant near the front counter waiting to be greeted and seated and was ignored by at least 3 waiters (all near the bar area). Its not that they didn't see me, because eye-contact was made but they just didn't bother to come seat us. Then it went downhill from there and this review is directed specifically to one particular waiter who was rude, abrupt and unfriendly. Not sure if he is a family member of the owners and that's why they've kept him on but he sure does have an attitude issue.
Asked for a dinner plate for our son as he finds the small rice bowls difficult to use and his abrupt reply was "we don't have any" and continued walking. OK sure, then what is that dinner plate I can see you serving all our food on?
At the end of the night we asked for the bill and again He abruptly told us to go get it 'there' and pointed to the front counter and walked off. Now we know they do bring bills to the table as we've dined her numerous times (last time was as little as 2 weeks ago) and we've never been told this. Its not so much what he said because fine, if you don't have a spare dinner plate for our son no probs and fine, if you want me to go to the front counter to get the bill no issues, its the way he said it and treated us.
Take him off the floor and working behind the scenes because he lacks any form of customer service.
Will we return here? Probably yes but next time I sure hope we aren't...
Read moreWe went there a little past 12noon last 8th Feb 2025. One of the servers had an attitude. We couldn't locate the steamed bun in the menu and when we asked this server, he was irritated and aggressively pointed at a section of the menu as if we were idiots for not noticing immediately. Then he walked away shaking his head and not even bothering to hide it. Their menu has small fonts and therefore difficult to read. Perhaps improve the design of your menu so it's easier to read and your staff should improve his lousy and extremely RUDE attitude towards customers.
The Hainanese chicken we ordered was served COLD. The food took time to arrive and the rice was missing. When we followed up, the server walked away without confirming how many we ordered and came back with just one cup. We were four adults and one child. It wouldn't hurt to ask us first. In addition, the servers didn't even ask if they could clear our table and just grabbed empty plates.
It was our first time trying this restaurant. It was an extremely DISAPPOINTING experience for me and my companions. We were shocked by the server's rude behaviour towards us. You should train your staff as this is unacceptable. We will NEVER return to this restaurant ever again.
Reply to owner: If you had noticed this happening on the day, why was there no action to rectify the staff's behaviour on the spot?...
