I really enjoyed my experience here - it’s definitely a meeting place . The atmosphere is quite lively , and it’s situated down a small laneway right near the Central Market . There is indoor and outdoor seating , and they also sell some condiments and specialised food items , as well as a selection of cookbooks, and some hot chocolate powder from Morks, which is a specialised well known chocolate shop in Melbourne . Market street cafe also have their own little bakery , which means fresh in house bread . Their coffee of choice was D’Angelo , which is a local coffee roaster , with a deep chocolaty taste. I had an iced almond latte and enjoyed this brew . Gluten free options are not particularly wide , but I did have a Reuben sandwich with a twist , ( with kimchi and gochujang mayo ) and was pleasantly surprised by the gluten free bread , which was thick and seeded - delicious. Worth a visit, especially if you visit the...

One of the weirdest experiences we’ve had ordering at a cafe. When we arrived no one greeted us or even made eye contact, and we were unclear if it was table service or not. We were looking for a menu, but could only find a blackboard inside with some food listed but no prices. When I ask a staff member if I could see a paper menu with the prices, she said they don’t have any - but she could talk me through the price of each of the menu items if I wished. Really? We bought a couple of coffees, and they were ok, but the atmosphere and overall interaction here was super uncomfortable, so we passed on the food and went...

Left the kids at Guzman y Gomez around the corner and grabbed a coffee and pastry. Absolutely loved the soy latte (Bonsoy) even though there was no latte art, the taste of the beans really shone through.

The game changer for me was the chocolate almond croissant. Admittedly I’ve never had one with chocolate before so this just blew my mind. Yummy when warmed up!

The outdoor seating was good vibes with heaters in the winter.

I was tossing up whether to go into the market for some coffee but glad I made the decision to grab...

What a find! One of the best cafes in Australia, that reminded me of favourites back in London. The open kitchen with the team preparing delicious food is of a really high standard. Great presentation for Insta obsessed, but the winner is fresh food and delicious taste. Coffee that would put Melbourne’s cafes to shame and they’re consistently great with different baristas. If good food, great coffee and friendly service matter, bookmark this place!
