Racist Staff, Racist Manager Subject: Serious Complaint Regarding McDonald's Service I am writing to file a serious complaint against McDonald's. The incident occurred on February 17, 2024, at around 1:40 PM, at the McDonald's located in Adelaide City Myer Center. Food was order on the App.
At the beginning, I need to share two incidents happened while waiting for my order that related to my complain.
Firstly, a male local customer complained to the staff that his burger patty was cold. The staff promptly and courteously replaced his burger and also offered a larger fries as compensation. Secondly, another female local customer received the wrong size of fries, and once again, the same staff graciously rectified the mistake by giving her a large fries.
However, when it was my turn to receive my order, I politely requested some ketchups as my meal included fries. Shockingly, the same staff responded rudely, insisting that I should have ordered it with my meal and also emphasized that it’s FREE! I was taken aback and said, "I ordered through the app, and that option wasn't available." She became even more impatient and said, "Next time, use the machine!" I was displeased and asked, "Are you saying we can't order through the app at this store? Is it compulsory to use the machine to order?" When I questioned the policy of ordering via the app and the treatment I received, the staff member totally ignored me and continued with her tasks.
Feeling deeply disappointed and offended, I approached the manager at the time, who offered only a cursory apology and two ketchups. Despite my insistence on discussing the behavior of their staff, the manager appeared dismissive and seemed eager to conclude the conversation.
As someone with a history of severe depression and hyperthyroidism, the encounter left me trembling with a rapid heartbeat and struggling to breathe. With only a 30-minute lunch break, I felt compelled to leave without further confrontation, despite feeling faint.
Subsequently, I lodged a complaint on the McDonald's official website, and on the fourth day following the incident (February 20, 2024, 2:15 PM), I received a call from the responsible person at the Adelaide Myer Center McDonald's. Initially, she expressed apologies for my experience and proceeded with a string of official statements. When I inquired about the outcome, she mentioned ongoing training to prevent similar incidents, yet again resorting to corporate rhetoric. I then stated, "My complaint clearly indicates my serious suspicion of racial discrimination by the staff member and the duty manager at the time, as their attitudes towards me and local customers were vastly different. Therefore, I demand to know the actions taken regarding that staff member." Upon hearing this, her attitude deteriorated, and she impatiently responded, "We won't offer you any voucher, because this isn't a problem with the food!" I interrupted her, stating, "I never asked for vouchers, nor do I need them. I simply want to know the outcome of your investigation and require the staff member to apologize to me in person and explain their behavior that day." Her demeanor worsened, stating, "That's impossible; the staff member is not on the floor now, so there's nothing we can do." I pressed further, asking, "Is this the final call? Is this the ultimate explanation for my complaint?" She confirmed, "Yes, this is the final call. I've already apologized to you!" Enraged, I responded, "Fine, but I will publicize this entire incident online and on to my social medias." She retorted, "You can't do that; you're violating privacy! Anyway, that's how it is!" When I attempted to inquire about her name, she promptly hung up the phone. Unfortunately, my iPhone does not have a recording function, so I cannot provide audio evidence.
The staff member in question is possibly named Lxxxxn, and the male manager on duty that day is possibly named Axxxn.
Despite submitting a follow-up complaint, I have yet to receive...
Read moreI don't appreciate staff that lie. It gets you no where. I ordered a big mac meal and told the employee twice that I wanted NO SALT in the chips. I get my meal and chips aren't fresh and full of salt. I went up to the front counter and told them and they checked my order and said it doesn't say no SALT. I told them I did request that and to ask the girl that served me. She comes to the front desk and says oh you said no salt on the big mac. Really?? So why did the screen not say no salt in big mac and why was the big mac not fresh if that's what I asked for. Completely proved she is a liar. I told her she was lying and to be honest about it and kept denying it. I would have more respect for her if she had of just admitted she made a mistake. Shame on you, you will not get far in life with that attitude. Advice for you keep your job at McDonald's and get some more training as this incident proves what sort of person you would be in the real world with a job that wouldn't take your lies. You are rude and a liar. Worst McDonald's I have been to in...
Read moreThe only reason I'm giving any stars is because the manager was very quick to refund me. That's the only good experience from our visit. I have actually worked at McDonald's, so I understand what the basic standards should be. I was shocked. We were greeted by four dirty rags on the counter that kept getting pushed around in the direction of waiting customers, and boy were there many waiting customers. The staff were disgraceful to say the least. They slammed down drinks, gave serious attitude every customer I saw them deal with, and didn't apologise for the many inaccurate orders they were giving out nor the waiting times. We ordered a simple meal and after twenty minutes we gave up and asked for a refund. To be fair the manager was quick with the refund as he's obviously had to do it a lot. He deserves better staff. Lose the attitudes, or lose the job. You are replacable, and should be. Have a touch of pride in your work, and yourself, as I did when I was...
