Read moreDecided to have Korean food after binging on K-dramas. :) Found this place through reviews and decided to give it a go. ParkbongSook did not disappoint. It was open on a Sunday for lunch - huge plus and much appreciated. Parking was not too difficult on a Sunday along the road.
The place is spacious and staff well-mannered. We were seated very quickly and given a menu and a QR code. We have never liked QR codes and felt that it reduced human interaction and were told that we could also order at the counter. My better half wanted to noodles and was recommended the seafood jhajhangmyeon (black bean sauce noodles). I went for the spicy stir fried pork with white rice. We also ordered a plate of Korean fried chicken, half of which were Snow Chicken, and the other half Sweet Spicy Chicken.
As with most Korean establishments, the pickles arrived first. They were generally good, nice to whet the appetite. Next to arrive was the noodles. We were pleasantly surprised that it was a decent portion with plenty of seafood, and best of all, very yummy. The noodles had an interesting texture - not exactly chewy like udon or firm like ramen. Next, the stir fried spicy pork arrived. It was fragrant and the marinade seeped and tenderized the pork slices well. Another delicious option, which went really well with white rice. The fried chicken was also good. Between the two, we liked the Snow Chicken more, not that the sweet spicy chicken was not good Overall, a very good meal with comfort food to accompany.
Learned later that the place has a few other establishments in Sydney too. Will return to try other items...
Read moreThis Korean restaurant is an absolute must-try! Every single dish we ordered was incredibly delicious. We visited with seven people, including two kids, for a family birthday, and despite being very busy, the food came out impressively fast. The Seafood Pancake was a highlight – loaded with seafood and wonderfully crispy, offering fantastic texture and flavor. As a fan of spicy food, the Volcano Chicken Feet were perfect for me! They were incredibly spicy, just how I like them. While my family couldn't handle the heat (more for me!), it's definitely a dish for spice lovers. The Pork Hock was incredibly generous in portion size and surprisingly not greasy at all. It was so well-seasoned that it tasted amazing even without the dipping sauce, and the accompanying vegetables were a great touch to cut through any richness. The Cold Noodles with Pork Belly were an instant hit and quickly devoured by everyone at the table! The pork belly was incredibly tender, and the refreshing cold noodles, topped with plenty of green onion and crispy fried shallots for added texture, made this a universal favorite. For the kids, we ordered the Chicken Noodle Soup. The broth was rich and flavorful, and the chicken was fall-off-the-bone tender, which the little ones absolutely loved. I highly recommend this place for a delicious and satisfying Korean meal, especially for...
