We enjoyed our time at Swordman's Kitchen on Rundle Street. Love the brick wall in the store with a lonely sword hanging on it. Excellent services, the waitress is friendly with smile on her face all the time. My friend and I didn't expected much about the food as it was our first time but we were both amazed in the end. I am in love with the pumpkin dumplings. YOU MUST TRY IT! It is completely beyond my expectation and it becomes one of my must-order dishes from this store. Mention about the Ramen, you can choose the level of the spiciness when you order. I requested for medium and I was pleasantly surprised. It's not a typical Japanese Ramen, but I loved it. In terms of drinking, there is Snow Beer, hahaha, one more point added for that. As we had lunch on a Sunday afternoon, there wasn't many people, and the food was served quickly. However, observing that there is only the chef and the waitress in the store, I don’t know how would they manage during the peak time... Anyway, good food is worth the wait.

I have always wanted to try Swordman’s Kitchen but never get the chance to (Sunday is my only day off and they don’t open on Sundays). Finally we made it happen on my birthday this year! We made a reservation at 6pm. There weren’t a lot of people when we arrived, but it was fully packed by 7pm. Everything we ordered were perfectly executed and delish👌🏻 A really thoughtful restaurant as we noticed the waitress knew when we were about to finish the dish, so the chef could make the next dish according to our pace😯 We do observed there was only one chef in the kitchen, hence we had to wait a bit in the middle but the food really worth the wait! ⭐️Strongly recommend the Grilled Eel Rice Bowl (Don)! It was so delish that we almost forgot how full we were lol We just kept on digging in until its all gone… Have already recommended this restaurant to my besties. The best Japanese restaurant in Adelaide of all the others I have visited so far. Definitely coming back again!

Lex's work lunch at @swordmanskitchen a few weeks ago: overall a bit disappointing. The food isn't terrible, but it's certainly nothing to get excited about. I think they try to do too many things. For example, they do ramen as well as sashimi/sushi, and yakitori. Plus, they also do Banh Mi on top of that? Weird combination to be honest. . Tonkotsu miso ramen, with Wagyu beef and chilli. The ramen is okay, but if you want good Wagyu beef ramen, you should probably go to Kazumi in Norwood. It's better there, in our opinion. . Chicken karaage: can't get fried chicken wrong - these were good! . Vegetarian gyoza: these were fairly standard, not bad. . Okonomiyaki: they tried to make it fancy with truffle mayonnaise, but you couldn't really taste the truffle. Otherwise not too bad.

We ate here on a Friday night and were looking forward to some good sushi. It was not very busy, but we had to wait for ages for the food to come out (30 mins+ for sushi). It's puzzling that there's a single cook and no helper staff in the kitchen during a peak period. The only waiter on table service (there's only two staff in the entire restaurant) was polite but abrupt and seemed stressed out the whole time. Please hire more staff for your own sanity! The miso soup was the only thing they got right. The salad dressing and others sauces tasted like they came straight from a jar - sickly sweet. This place does Vietnamese rolls at lunch and then switches to Japanese fusion at dinner. It may be helpful to focus on one type of cuisine and master it.

And the wine list is comical, considering we are in South Australia. I am not sure who chose the wines, but it seems that whoever chose them does...
