Von Thai Restaurant is a hidden gem that exceeded all my expectations. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm and inviting ambiance – cozy, elegant, and perfect for a casual dinner or a special occasion. The attention to detail in the decor added to the overall charm, making it a lovely place to unwind and enjoy a great meal.

The food was absolutely exceptional! Each dish was beautifully presented and packed with bold, authentic flavors that you can tell were crafted with care. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly their spicy curry barramundi – it’s an absolute must-try! The fish was perfectly cooked, tender, and infused with a rich, flavorful curry that struck just the right balance of spice and creaminess. It’s the kind of dish you’ll be dreaming about long after your visit.

The service was equally impressive. Our waitress was attentive, polite, and made sure we were comfortable throughout the evening. A special shout-out to the manager, who truly went above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable. She was incredibly friendly, personally checked in with us, and made sure we were happy with our food. It’s rare to find such genuine hospitality these days, and it really made a difference.

Overall, Von Thai Restaurant is a place I can’t recommend enough. Whether you’re a fan of Thai cuisine or just looking for an excellent dining experience, this spot will not disappoint. Great food, lovely ambiance, and outstanding service – it’s the full package. I’ll definitely be...

So when we arrived to restaurant, the restaurant was quite busy. We waited at the door to be seated for 5 min, know one acknowledged us although they looked up, waitresses were quite busy and eventually came.

We asked them for a table for 2 and she asked if we had a booking, we said no. She replied thats ok I have nothing inside can we seat you outside, although there was an undressed table empty near door, she said it was reserved, which by the way no one ever came to sit at.

So we sat outside and chairs were very uncomfortable, I saw people leave from inside, so after I ordered the food, I asked waitress if we could sit inside instead, waitress then escorted us inside. Atmosphere was cosy and ambience was nice. Food was nice, not the best Thai I have had. But what ruined my experience was being charged $7 per person for mineral water, which we had only had one bottle between 2 people.

Unfortunately when I ordered the water, which i normally do at any restaurant as a standard and I didn't see on menu that it was a per head charge for unlimited mineral water. The waitress should have stated if I wanted the unlimited water option, I think it was unfair to be charged $14 for one bottle of water. If I knew I would have got a drink where it was charged for the actual bottle and not this unlimited thing they do discreetly. I Wasnt happy, which topped of my...

Don't come here if you don't like chilli or spicey food. We told our waitress we didn't like any spice. She said no problem. We asked what was included in the feed me menus, she couldn't tell us and said it's up to the chef. So we ordered off the normal menu and asked for everything to be not spicey and only 2 of the meals were edible. The pad Thai was soo spicey we thought they'd made a mistake and said we asked for it not spicy. The waitress took it away and said she'd fix it. A different waitress brought back the same plate and said that's as mild as they can make it. She did offer to exchange for another dish. We said don't worry. Then the first waitress who's the one who also took the order came over and asked if everything's OK, we said no and pointed out the dishes were spicey, she's the one who took our order with us saying nothing to be spicy or chilli. She said sorry and she won't charge for the pad Thai. We thought that was nice. Then when we paid we were in fact charged for the pad Thai... Where we sat the sun was directly in our eyes and the aircon super cold blowing on us. We had to go to the car and get jackets, on a 32 degree day. It was an all round bad experience. They also have an A4 sign on the counter saying they give free ice cream in exchange for a Google review. I didn't think this was legal? Which could explain the high rating on...

Dinner at @von_thai_flinders, previously known as S2. The food was good/okay - nothing special, but was a bit on the pricey side. Some do say that the old S2 was better. It's personal preference, but I feel there are better Thai restaurants in Adelaide 😅. . Son in law eggs: deep fried eggs with crispy shallots and drizzled with sweet Thai caramel sauce. Reasonably well done. Pretty good. . Dumpling: this was a special of the day - can't remember what it was now 🤦😅😂. It was pretty tasty, and the sauce was good. . Spicy dry curry barramundi: very nicely done dry curry. A bit spicy but very mild. The barramundi was tender. Good dish! . Von deep fried chicken: the chicken was crispy and tasty, but it wasn't anything special. Chicken was on a bed of unremarkable salad. . Grilled duck breast: the duck was nice and tasty. Pretty tender. Enjoyed this one! . Calamari salad: crispy and tender - the way you want it. The salad aspect was pretty good. . The desserts were in general a bit disappointing. The tastes were okay. Nothing remarkable. The panna cotta was a very small portion.

The space was very nice, good atmosphere however we didn't like that there were many little flies flying around, one went into our food. The service was good, staff were friendly and attentive. Hoeever, we wanted to pay cash at the end, and they said they didn't have change (the change was around $28 so a bit strange not to have any change). The food was really good. We had the spring rolls and seaflowers to begin with. Spring rolls were very crispy and light, the seaflowers came in a delicious curry like sauce. For mains we had the Larb chicken salad which was very good. The green curry with chicken and coconut rice side, very nice and a prawn Thai fried rice (not pictured) which was also very good. Food was great. For drinks we had an Aperol spritz which was unfortunately too watery, and a cocktail which also wasn't anything special. For the high price point (Aperol spritz $23!!) The drinks were a disappointment. We tried the sticky rice for dessert which was good. Not the best sticky rice I ve had, but still good
