Dinner at @bailongstore: delicious food, good service, and yummy cocktails. We haven't been back in quite a while, and decided to try it again! It's a little bit pricey, but this isn't your typical discount Chinese meal 😅😅. Overall the fusion of flavours were excellent 👍. . Crispy prawn: nice crunch to it, and the prawns were very tender. Wasabi mayo was a good addition! . Eggplant: very crispy fried, and overall tasted really great! Loved this dish 😊. . Crackle pork: with grilled white kimchi, pink peppercorn, and Sichuan apple sauce. We've had this dish before, and it has always been really yummy! The crackling was perfect. And the kimchi made a great addition! . Roasted cauliflower: this was the only dish that was slightly disappointing. It wasn't as roasted as we would've liked. . Lamb rib: grilled, with sweet chilli sou caramel, infused apple, mint salad. The lamb was really nicely done. Very tasty! The meat was quite tender, easily falling off the bone 🤤🤤🤤. . Crispy fish: tempura barramundi and spicy tartare. The tempura batter was good - not too thick, and just light and crispy. The fish was tender, and not bland. Good flavours with the sauce. . Confit mushrooms: shiitake, king oyster, Enoki, Shimeji, black fungus, garlic shoot, dry chilli. Really enjoyed this dish - such a good combination of ingredients, in particular lots of tasty mushrooms! . Red Guinness: Guiness parfait, Guiness caramel, red wine raspberry compote and almond praline. The parfait tasted great - similar in texture to semifreddo. The raspberry compote worked well with the Guiness. . Mini garden: Vietnamese coffee mousse, meringue, hazelnut crumb, passionfruit curd. This dessert dish is so pretty that I thought it needed its own post 😂😂. Almost too pretty eat it 😅😅😅. The mousse was really...
Read moreExtremely disappointing experience. Would not recommend or go back again. Arrived at 5.30pm and ordered the 2 course peking duck straight away. Ordered other food after and got the other food first, followed by the 1st peking duck course. Didn't get the 2nd course, which was just a salad with very inconsistently sized pieces of duck meat, until almost 7pm, almost an hour and a half after we ordered it. Had to ask for it 3 times and every time they said it was "on the way". The peking duck was undercooked, still pink and bleeding, not crispy and still had a lot of fat attached. We ordered noodle with chilli on the side but the chilli came mixed into the noodle and extremely salty. Rice was way undercooked, almost raw. The exterior was slightly soft but the inside was really hard. We told the server and he insisted it was cooked but they'll take it off our bill. The only good dish was the lamb cutlets. Male server had no smile and seemed very unwilling to serve us. We complained to a female server about the food and she told us to wait a moment, then never came back to us until we waved her down to ask about the salad. Interior design was awesome, very interesting but service is not great and food is just...
Read moreWe hadn’t had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant before - as we live nearby it could be our favourite “ go to” in future. I would dismiss the critics who thought there was too much sugar that the prices are inflated .. So - my husband and I had exceptional service of fabulous food - The “ small plates” of roasted cauliflower and prawn dumplings only made us hungrier for more- Then we had a shared Main of : King Prawn followed by Fried Dim Sim - which has a tangy sauce of Strawberry - Sounds unusual but in fact was really complimentary… We changed our minds and then ordered an afterthought dessert of Crème Caramels for 2 with coffee. We couldn’t pick a favourite for the night because - All the food was exceptional Rounding off this review we think A modern Thai Restaurant - with the emphasis of FRESH and exceptional flavouring enhanced by the sauces. We shall return .....
