Getsu Japanese restaurant and cafe — Restaurant in Bowral

First of all I will start by saying I have eaten here a couple of times and the experience has been ok, we enjoyed the food. But, our last visit was appalling, never have we experienced such a poor lack of customer service. Started Saturday night with a reservation at 7.00pm. Order taken at 7.25pm with the comment of, last orders as kitchen closing at 7.30pm. You must be joking, I even asked if I had heard this correctly. . If this was going to happen perhaps don't take bookings at 7pm. Remember this is a Saturday night. Food came out all at once, clearly because kitchen had closed. Added to this, there was us and another 2 tables there.

Then air conditioning turned off above us, the most horrendous music turned up and the mopping was being done around our table. I truly couldn't believe it. By this stage it was only 8.15pm.

I went to pay and the music was turned up even louder so much so, I said wow you have certainly nailed the music, he couldn't even hear me over the music.

So, whilst the food is ok/good, don't ever go for atmosphere, service, ambience or in fact an evening with friends. If you are happy to be home by 8.30pm on a Saturday night, then this your place, if not maybe get takeaway or try...

The worst place for service I have ever seen My family were sitting down and I arrived late and went to put my order in and the guy at the register told me to sit at the table someone will come out to take my order

I went a waitress came out I gave my order she went back to put my order in and I walked inside to look at what was in the window and they told me they had to send someone else out to take my order at the table again

The lady was rude and very pushy and annoying, I tried to explain my family was already eating that I already ordered with the other lady and she said I had to order again because she was new.

There was a lineup at the door and people wanting to sit down what idiot would make people wait when my table was nearly finished eating I could have put my order in and that would have freed up a table of 7 people for others to sit down.

Some people just have no idea how to manage people or a business.

We called nearly a week in advance to make reservations for dinner - they couldn’t find the reservation when we arrived but luckily they still seated us. It felt very rushed as we heard there was someone coming within a half hour of us being seated.

My wife ordered sushi without fish roe, they acknowledged it when taking the order and when putting the food in front of us, but it was hidden in between the pieces, luckily it wasn’t an allergy she has. We informed them but nothing was done. I ordered fried rice and got a tiny bowl of plain rice with some kind of sauce throughout. Definitely wasn’t fried rice.

Service is definitely not their strong suit, however food is ok. Portions are quite small for the money. Would definitely recommend requesting to be seated in the main dining area, as opposed to beinh next to the kitchen, as it is quite noisy. Kind of spoiled what was supposed to be a...
