13 Bees — Restaurant in Brisbane City

June 2022: What a delightful, delightful place. Only two weeks old and already making an impression! A welcome change in food and service from the other cake shop in that vicinity!

The service, ambience and vibe at Moist Bakery was above par and excellent. Haze was wonderful and was so informative with our dietary requirements.

It’s always a challenge going out in a mixed group where one is lactose intolerant and it’s a welcome surprise for that person to not have a sorbet option only! 😆

They have a loyalty program as well. Absolutely no hesitation in recommending this business and we look forward to returning again soon! 💛

Edit - returned after a year, June 2023. New owners, new menu, new number, but the same delightful and friendly service and desserts. Who doesn’t need a smiling ‘assassin’ to tell them that no, the cookie pie is good for you, yes it can be warmed up?!

Visited pretty late on a Friday night, great trading hours for a late night treat. Valley was very busy with both traffic and people, a loud urban jungle making 13 Bees like a hidden, quiet, calm & beautiful oasis.

Tried the passion fruit cheesecake and two variants of the cookie cake. The cheesecake was incredibly light and smooth, I have not had cheese cake like this. Very good.

The cookie cakes were both good, mars and tim tam variants. Both great. A pro tip from staff letting it warm up on the bench a bit before eating was spot on, completely different vs cold.

That staff member, young guy, seriously the GOAT. Our interaction was a couple of minutes at best, from the first word spoken he made me feel happy, warm and welcome. I’m usually ok with a written word but fail to articulate how amazing this interaction and service was.

Plan to dine in next time with family because of the service alone.

First time I went to 13 bees I’ve tried their gelato and was content, but the second time I came back for one of their desserts and was infatuated with the flavors. Although it was really sweet and I would recommend to share with someone, I’ve had most of the kinder bueno pie. Some of the kinder pieces inside was a bit dry, but the overall texture was amazing. The seller felt nice and had a genuine conversation with us.

Would recommend to go by that little alley and have a great time!
