Cute little hawker style alleyway with a variety of asian stalls selling "fast food" versions of meals. Many of the stalls aren't serving "restaurant" or even cafe quality food, but I suppose it's good enough for a quick bite. Although the website states that 8 street closes at 8pm on weekdays, it's more like 6.30-7pm. I went on a Wednesday evening and most of the stalls were closed by 6.45... only 2 stayed open until after 7.30pm which was disappointing. Most stores also don't have signs to say whether or not they're open or closed either so it was a matter of going stall to stall, trying to get the attention of staff that were busy at the back to ask them whether or not they were still accepting orders. If you're wanting tasty and delicious asian food, skip 8 street and head to just about anywhere in sunnybank. If you're at Garden City, strapped for time, and just wanting a very basic, cheap "asian-ish" feed then yeah... give it a go... but don't get...
Read moreI ordered lunch for my husband on this Easter Sunday at Rice Town. After a couple hours after that meals, my husband felt really unwell and started very bad vomiting and dizzy. Unfortunately that is only food that he had on that day. He couldn’t stand up properly! I am really doubt their food safety especially after closed one day on Good Friday! Do they keep the meat properly with food date markers or under the temperature under 5 degree. Do they check the meat temperature before reopening? Do the owners have basic food safety training knowledge? Guys! Attention! The meat cooked there is really sauce tasty but it doesn’t mean that the meat you have is always stored properly! I think city council people really need to go to check the food safety in 8 eat street and give them some helpful advice! What I can see in many restaurants there are not doing right things according to city council food safety policies....
Read moreI have eaten at all of the restaurants on 8th Street. It's nice to be able to taste food from various Asian countries, but there are no restaurants that serve delicious food. The Chinese restaurant tastes better, but the staff's attitude and hygiene are terrible. And never order jjambbong at a Korean restaurant. It's really tasteless. The food in Japanese restaurants is generally salty, and the taste of Thai food makes you question whether it is really Thai food. The place is too cramped and noisy. It's the perfect place to catch an infectious disease. The price is too expensive. I think it would be much tastier and cheaper to eat at another outside restaurant than at...
