Dined here tonight (25/1/20). Food wasn't bad. Servings were small. Service and overall experience was awful. When we were seated there were a number of tables empty so the restaurant wasn't full yet we were handed what appeared to be a laminated, single page, shortened lunch version of the menu. When one of the other tables had ordered I asked if we had been given the full menu and was told that they didn't have enough menus hence, yes we had been given lunch menus. So the restaurant isn't full but you still don't have enough menus?? As mentioned we had to ask for a full menu as once the other tables were finished with them they were just dumped by the waitress back at the front counter, not brought over to us. On receiving the full menu we found that many items on the menu were covered over with tape and "NA". Looks like the changes had been there for quite some time but no one could be bothered with producing an updated menu. When we tried to place our order we were only THEN told (not when we received the menus) that because the chef was away in Vietnam (?!?) we could not order anything with fish in it?!? So that cuts down the menu even further. No, chicken is not a substitute for fish - guess what? Not everyone eats chicken... The final straw was when it came to trying to pay for the meal. We stood in front of the front counter for a very long time whilst our waitress and other staff members continually raced past us, frequently to one particular table that seemed to be receiving exceptionally good service. Eventually we had to interrupt her on one of her many trips past us and say that we were really quite keen to pay our bill. The excuse given was that they were understaffed but it seems from other reviews that this has been an issue previously and obviously doesn't seem to be a priority for...

If you haven’t put An Cafe on your Brisbane spectacular dining list you are missing out. I have been there many times in just over a year and it is so consistently great 😌. Let start with some signatures dishes like Banh Xeo ( Crispy Vietnamese Pancake) and Cracklings Pork With Apple Salad. You can just tell straight away that those things are just made from starch. Because of the small kitchen, if the diner is busy you may have to wait a bit, but the local flavor can't be beat. If you looking for something out of your comfort zone, I highly recommended try the Stir-fried Mussels with Coconut Milk and Lemongrass. I was talking with my partner about how every drop of that tangling and creamy sauce was made me so satisfied . Don’t even mention there Hue Spicy Beef Noodle Soup. Probably my favourite to go soup of all time. Nothing can compare with the balancing of spiciness of the broth and tenderness of the slightly rare beef. Add a little bit of lime, sprout and basil. There you go, who said the prefect soup doesn’t exist. Please do yourself a favor and visit this place. Grab yourself a banh mi if you on a lunch rush, treat yourself with a salad noodle on a hot day and have a full on dining experience whenever you...

Bad service, bad food, bad attitude. On Sunday, we came in this restaurant and made our order, paid by card. Just normal food, nothing was super hard or fancy food. Staff ignored us and just served food to other customers although they came in after us. We waited 30 minutes and had to remind the staff. They said "oh yes we are cooking". We had to wait 10 more minutes and Ironically, the staff re-appeared and asked us to reconfirm what food we ordered. They lied that their printer was broken. But it was not logical because our order should have stayed on their PC. Nothing was on the screen. It meant that they did not enter our order in their system!!! We had to wait 10 more minutes to be served food which was super bad. In total, we had to wait 50 minutes!!! And served with lies and bad food. By the way, we paid the full cost. We will Never come back to...

I recently dined at this Vietnamese cafe and ordered the Rangoon, grilled chicken pho along with the grilled chicken noodle salad. The food was simply delightful; the flavors were truly authentic and delicious. However, one aspect of the experience that could use improvement is the noise level in the cafe. The constant dragging of wooden chairs against the floor and the fidgeting of children with their chairs created quite a disruptive environment. It made it somewhat challenging to engage in a peaceful conversation. Despite this minor inconvenience, I must say that the overall dining experience was wonderful. The food quality and taste more than made up for it. I'd highly recommend trying their dishes, and perhaps in the future, they could consider addressing the noise issue to enhance the overall experience.

Got a crispy pork banh mi and the pork dim sum. Both were $11 each and the dim sum came with 4 pieces. The dim sum was not too good and was just a block of meat wrapped up. There was no texture to it and you could easily buy better dim sum frozen from a grocery store which is what I'm assuming they actually did. The banh mi was very good, just wish they would've layered it better with all the other things inside the bread so that when you bite into it, you're getting a mouthful of everything at once rather than one bite being just the pork and the other being only veggies. Service was also very quick and polite.
