Not sure if things have changed in the 2 years or so since I saw glowing reviews about this place from a local FB group but ultimately I left a bit disappointed by my experience vs expectations.
Service is fine. The staff member I interacted with the most seemed new/a bit unsure but the boss(?) was on hand to oversee/guide.
There are 4 tables for 4 inside and a few smaller ones outside. It seems to be pretty popular for takeaway. I came in a group of more than 4 and they put 2 of the inside tables together for my group.
You order and pay at the counter. If you spend $50 or more and pay cash you get a free soft drink.
Most of our food took about 20-25 minutes to come out except one dish which was about 10 minutes behind the rest. In terms of what I ordered for my family 2 out of 3 dishes had issues: the udon was overcooked and thus too soft, but otherwise had decent flavour. It's described as tempura udon which often suggests a range of tempura items but this comes with prawns only and the batter it had is more ebi fry than tempura the baked salmon roll was overall rather soft and the whole thing just falls apart in your mouth which doesn't result in a satisfying mouth feel. The rice was too soft, the tuna too wet, and I'm not so sure the salmon was actually baked. the karrage Japanese curry was probably the best overall dish.
We also shared an Arigatou chicken (boneless chicken) which had ok flavour from the soy sauce but no crisp or crunch to the batter, and meat wasn't the juicy type. I don't know if this was meant to be Korean fried chicken (the staff all spoke Korean) but it's not up to the standards of good KFC I've had elsewhere.
At pretty much $20/head for mains (not including the shared boneless chicken) this is a just ok place for a feed though there are plenty of other places can spend the same amount and have a more satisfying feed.

Read moreTerrible food. Sushi rolls made out of canned mystery fish. Ordered tempura vegetables (shredded vegetables deep fried in batter which is what their menu showed). But what they provided was three tiny pieces of battered potato and sweet potato. When asked, the chef said that what he gave me was 'better' than what was shown on the menu. And the chef even pulled out a sample of the frozen vegetable piece and said that what was indicated on the menu was very small. And indeed it was! Three tiny pieces of vegetable tempura for $6. He did offer to switch back to the original menu item, but why would I do that when he just acknowledged that the portions are very small?! What this tells me is that the chef indirectly acknowledged that the menu items are small and overpriced. Take you money elsewhere. This place does not have fresh food and misleads...
Read moreI've been a regular at Arigatou Sushi for some time now, and I have consistently enjoyed my visits. The quality of the food is always excellent, with fresh ingredients that make each dish a delight. The staff here are friendly and contribute to a welcoming atmosphere. Another positive aspect is the cleanliness of the place, it's always well-maintained and inviting.
The restaurant offers a comfortable setting, suitable for both relaxed meals and slightly more special occasions. Their menu has a good variety of food. The service is efficient, meaning you're not left waiting long for your meal. Overall, Arigato Sushi provides a solid dining experience and is a good choice for those who enjoy...
