Carraway Pier — Restaurant in Brisbane City

TLDR: had vego burger (yes...at a fish and chips store) - brutally mid IMO. If you're looking for a burger, pay the extra $3 and go to burger urge 10 steps away.

Review: Carraway Pier seems to be quite highly reviewed by others, and to be fair I took the road less traveled with the veggie burger but honestly a very underwhelming experience.

Came in late and had a veggie burger. Service came off grumpy, but I'll give a pass as it was close to closing. Atmosphere was fine, odd lack of music.

Burger was $11.5 so decentish pricing but buns were wrong way round (Patty not on sesame seed bun?) and tasted incredibly average. BBQ sauce listed on menu but couldnt taste/see? Toppings didn't taste super fresh. No onions, pickles, vego cheese? Slices of toppings are funnily cut, thick tomato cut.

I appreciate pioneering into vego burgers as a fish and chips joint, but I'd leave it at salads unless the burger gets...

Placed right in there university, this is the best fish and chips I've tasted in Brisbane! Not only is it easy to go to, the food is just to good. They are very reasonably priced and most importantly they taste good. The are a selection of fish with options to grill crumb or batter it. It's moist on the inside crispy on the outside. Chips are beer battered so they tasted amazing. Apart from fish and chips there is also a variety of seafood and salads to choose from. Even vermicelli noodles! They all taste amazing. My wife and I ordered the double fish pack which comes with 2 pieces of fish, 6 calamari, 4 prawns and a good serving of chips. Can I say this is easiest the best fish and chips I’ve had in Brisbane. Usually I feel a bit yuck after fish and chips but I felt fine and hungry for more. The chips were perfect and crispy and so was the fish and calamari. Everything was perfectly cooked. The guy let me order the phone and got everything right. I will defiantly be going back. If you’re craving fish and chips, these guys will fix you up and for a decent price...
