Incredible Brisbane city Parkland that is a real beautiful place for a picnic, walk or BBQ with friends.
Awesome free family events provided and hosted by the council. These events occur on a frequent basis.
Terrific trees and plants attentively cared for by the arborists and park operations team. Fun to see golf parts nipping about this ex golf course.
A real asset to Brisbane that hopefully continues to evolve as a tree sanctuary and bird lovers hotspot.
There are some snakes about, so keep your eyes peeled for Danger Noodles as they surprised me on a number of occasions. Certainly a few extremely large rats about Kelvin Grove, walking paths and rail track.
Hope the place stays slowly evolving into a green and welcoming parkland.
Amazing tracks to loop for those wanting to improve their #running. Hill running is incomparable training for those wanting to up their speed and endurance. Yet go hit it within your limits as the gradients are unforgiving and certainly No Walk in the (Victoria) Parkland.
One of my absolute favourite places in Brisbane and cared for in line with the splendid Mount Coot-Tha approx 15-20m...
Read moreReally poor facilities for those watching kids ride around. Only one table for what's a massive park and no other seating. Bring chairs. While there is some shady trees to sit under after midday the shade disappears and you'll end up sitting in garden beds to get somewhere out of the sun. Terrible facilities for a new park at which parents will be doing a lot of sitting watching their kids. BCC should have done much much better in this regard. The track itself is excellent and you'll be hard-pressed to get your kids to leave regardless of how long they've been there. There's a smaller track for littlies too which is also first rate. A great park that's really let down by a distinct lack of seating for...
Read moreI was there for a seminar. I did not get a chance to see much of anything as it was dusk when I arrived. The seminar was held in The Marquee.
The Marquee would be an excellent choice for a wedding reception or a big party. Attached is a separate bar area that also has space for a few tables for smaller groups. There are sliding glass doors which is great as they keep the chill out and also noise from the Putt-Putt area just below. Toilets are adjacent to The Marquee.
As for parking, they are either near the front of the property or nearer The Marquee, but as Victoria Park is very popular for after work gatherings, there were not too many available...
