Looking for the place to be on a Friday night? This might be an option. Hot tip, book ahead. Julius Pizza is a great place, the atmosphere is early afternoon families with young kids drop by for a quiet meal and family time. Add 2 hours and it transforms into a vibrant more South Brisbane trend scene. Loud and proud it's staff give all their Italian heritage fresh off the nona train. Staff are what is incredibly on point, never feel without or waiting for service here. Even menus that might float off a table with wind are promptly replaced within a minute of falling. It's the attention to detail which we enjoyed. Ordering is easy to do with allowances to customize a menu item to suit tastes. The menu is expansive with options for most. Drink choices are reasonable with again more options. Glasses clean and cutlery on point. Service was fast and efficient. Our area wait staff were very prompt and attentive. Food, we ordered a pizza and got what we asked for. Base was super thin and cust light but thick. Topping was ok, didn't rock our world but the taste was quite good. I feel some technique adjustment needs to be considered regarding topping consistency and profile. A little more time to cook the topping was required. The base was perfect. Being wood fired, a coals grill to give the topping that final pop could be used. We also had pasta which was actually authentic and cooked perfectly. Flavor profile was something I'd travel for. The garlic, hint of chilli and butter made it sing with correct spice and seasonings. Absolutely sublime. Fitout is presents well with something you could easily find in the small streets of an Italian town. I would return for pasta, pizza well a slice with friends before pasta would be suitable. Better pizza around I feel. Overall it's quite a nice place to visit and we enjoyed our meals. 1 pizza, one pasta dish and 2 beers was circa $65. Expensive and a sometimes visit considering what you get for the money. However food is one thing, great service makes a place....and Julius does that in spades.

Before delving into the exceptional food, I must highlight the incredible hospitality of Grace. From the moment we walked in, her friendly warmth and professionalism set the tone for an extraordinary afternoon. Grace exemplifies what great service in hospitality should be—her demeanor elevated the entire experience and truly made the food taste even better. Our meal began with the Smoked Burrata, a dish that immediately set an appetizing tone. The combination of the creamy burrata, eggplant sauce, and perfectly fried bread was nothing short of a culinary masterpiece. It was the ideal way to kickstart our dining journey. Next came the Slow-Cooked Beef Ragu, a recommendation from Grace. Rich, tomatoey, and decadently satisfying, this dish offered layers of flavor and an incredible mouthfeel that left us craving more. The real showstopper, however, was the Tortofu Pizza. Laden with an intense truffle flavor, it was a heady, aromatic experience that lingered well into the next day—a true truffle lover’s dream. The only suggestion I could make would be the option to add freshly shaved truffle on top, which would have taken it to even greater heights. To cap off this extraordinary meal, we shared the Hazelnut and Poached Pear Panna Cotta. My partner found it life-changing, and I couldn’t agree more. As someone who isn’t typically a fan of panna cotta, this rendition completely changed my perspective. The delicate balance of the hazelnut and pear flavors, paired with the silky texture, made it a dessert worth savoring to the last bite. Overall, Julius Pizzeria delivers an unforgettable dining experience. From the food to the service, everything was flawless. Just a heads-up—this place is always buzzing with food lovers, so booking in advance is highly recommended. If you’re looking for a memorable culinary outing, Julius Pizzeria is a must-visit!

I had dinner with my friends a couple of weeks ago. It was a farewell dinner, so we wanted a special night. We waited for 1.5 hours, which was understandable since it was a Saturday night. We finally got to sit, but a few of us had bad colds and wanted to sit inside. We didn't complain because it was a busy night and we were a group of five. However, I noticed an empty large table inside and saw that all the people sitting outside were Asian by chance. It was okay as long as the food was good. The staff weren’t very nice, but again, it was a busy night, so it didn’t bother me much. The pizza was great, the wine was nice, but the pasta was so-so. The thing that makes me write this review is how we were treated when the wind started blowing hard. All the staff were trying to close the door and fix things, and it was a funny moment until all the customers got to go inside except us. We told the staff we were cold, and one of them said, “I’m cold too,” and went inside. At that moment, our farewell dinner was ruined. We finished our meal, and our plates and glasses were completely empty. Then, the owner came out and asked if we wanted to go inside. We told him we already finished, so there was no need. He said, “I can’t control the weather.” As we were leaving, a staff member said, “Don’t be upset, there were no seats.” But we all knew that the other customers from outside got inside, and there were tables for five. Two groups of people got inside, and the rest outside were all Asian. What a coincidence? I told them, “You could’ve asked us first. We were five people like the other tables, but they got in first even though we came earlier.” He said the manager managed that. I’m not writing this review to fight or look for apologies. I’m just writing a genuine review for my fellow Asians. I’ve been living in Australia for quite a while, but this is the first time I felt I was treated differently because I’m Asian.

You craving pizza and think you could pay a lot more for something better than dominoes or pizza hut? Well you better keep looking because this place will charge you 5-10 times more for the same quality pizza. Or as my dining partner stated, "if the pizzas here were same priced as dominoes, I'd still choose dominoes". Really says something. The salt and pepper squid was also such a let down, it was missing a sauce or something, they left the salt and peppering to you as you have shakers on the table, but this doesn't correctly portray the way the chef intended for the dish to be enjoyed, there's no intention behind the food so charging $36 for something a fish n chip shop can slap together for a fraction of the price is a real insult to us regular foodies. The staff, oh boy, too many, inefficient and rude!! They had more floor staff here than customers, often we see groups of staff gathered just chatting and loitering, they had two bartenders from brunch hours, crazy move! Ive been to so many conference parties at rooftop bars with only two bartenders for 150+ rotating guests, these guys have two bartenders for tops 10-15 customers (including kids) who aren't about to start midday drinking. The bartenders are extremely aggressive at pushing you to order more drinks by taking away NOT finished glasses WITHOUT asking you before they grab it off your table, and give you the snidest looks for wanting your glass back. Then they go back and gossip with the other staff like they're still in highschool. I would not recommend this place, the food isn't anywhere CLOSE to the price point. The abundance of loitering, gossiping, and predatory staff ruin the atmosphere. Save yourself the money, just get your food literally anywhere else and feel good that you didn't waste your time and money like we did. Also wondering why the photos look terrible? Their I tended lighting is dog, all I can say.

My recent dining experience at Julius left me absolutely delighted! This charming Italian restaurant knows how to deliver a true taste of Italy right in the heart of Fish Lane. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by an inviting atmosphere that perfectly complemented the warmth of the staff. The rustic yet elegant decor created the ideal setting for a cozy and memorable meal. I started my culinary journey with the calamari, and let me tell you, it was a true highlight. The calamari was tender and cooked to perfection that revealed the delicate flavors of the sea. For the main course, I indulged in both pizza and pasta. The pizza was a true masterpiece. It was a harmonious blend of flavors that transported me straight to the streets of Italy. The pasta dish exceeded my expectations in every way. The attention to detail and quality of ingredients at Julius truly shines through in every bite. It's evident that the chefs are passionate about their craft and dedicated to delivering an authentic Italian experience. In conclusion, Julius is an Italian dining oasis that captures the essence of Italy's culinary traditions. The combination of delectable dishes, welcoming ambiance, and attentive service make it a must-visit for any food lover. Whether you're in the mood for pizza, pasta, or seafood delights like their incredible calamari, Julius has it all. I can't wait to return and explore more of their menu!

Food at Julius is 10/10 - fantastic Italian food! We had Burrata Affumicata e Asparagi, Bruschetta from their specials (tomatoes were devineee), Marinara Deluxe pizza, Margherita pizza, Spaghetti alla Chitarra ai Gamberi, Tiramisu and Pannacotta 🥰 we also had their complimentary bread and oil (their chilli oil was amazing as well!) - all the food was exceptional. Photos do not do justice. My only complaint would be our unfortunate experience we had with one of the waiters (Jojo). When my friend asked for the complimentary bread and oil he said, ‘you ordered pizza, do you want bread too?’ In a very judgement mail tone. This was very rude of him, following this he didn’t even get the bread (he made the decision for us not to eat it). We had to ask another waitress to get it for us. Definitely, killed the mood/vibe for the night. We felt quite targeted as he paid attention to the tables around us making us feel like outcasts. Customer service and equality is key! Hopefully, next time he’s more courteous. Having said this, every other staff we interacted with was absolutely welcoming! Thankfully the food outshined his attitude and we left wanting to come back very soon! 😍 Also, not forgetting the ambience - with the Chianti we ordered, it felt like I was back in Italy, having dinner in the streets of Florence 🥰
