I've been wanting to rate this place 5 stars for so long now!! If I could rate it more, I would.
If you LOVE hot yoga, and hot pilates, and yin yoga and looking for a great community who are all open, encouraging and friendly, come make the pilgrimage to pilgrim.
This is the best hot yoga and hot pilates combo studio in Brisbane.
It's rare to find such a wonderful community in a yoga centre. I left this place as moved suburbs and missed it so I joined back again and lots of people remembered me and were so welcoming and said it was great to have me back. There really is no other yoga studio I have been to with such a welcoming and connected community. If you feel intimidated by hot yoga or pilates classes, this is the space to try it. There is no judgement here. Everyone is down to earth and here to improve and grow.
The studio itself is large and gets HOT with its great infera red panels. I have not found another space that offers 60 minute hot pilates classes besides this one also and they are amazing. HIIT style, challenging but still doable, and extremely effective. The hot yoga is super challenging but so great for strength and mobility. The yin classes are absolutely divine and so great to do after a hot and sweaty yoga or pilates class prior.
They also have great special events time to time. And a monthly breathwork class that comes with your membership.
The showers are amazing, they are outdoors in a little courtyard and you shower amongst some amazing palms.
The owner is a friendly, kind and genuine person. A great man who is passionate about health and healing and the benefits of this type of practice. All about the inner journey, the pilgrim. And he has some cute dogs.
Thanks Paul and Pilgrim family for providing a space with a great vibe for detoxing, building strength and mobility, releasing tension and connecting back in with your body amongst amazing community.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreAshtanga with Yuko Adachi I feel fortunate to live near this excellent Hot Yoga studio, all the teachers at Pilgrim Yoga have unique styles and bring a wealth of experience. One such teacher is Yuko Adachi, who teaches all disciplines of Yoga along with Ashtanga (a difficult yoga style, due to the strength, knowledge, patience and discipline required to master). I love all of Yukoās classes, I always finish feeling invigorated and challenged. Yukoās choregraphed flow of movement, builds physical strength and already I can see an improvement in my flexibility and range of motion.
Yuko teaches with humility, compassion and patience. She always offers alternative postures to compensate for experience levels and injury, she works the room with a subtle nod or touch here and there. She is incredibly knowledgeable, very experienced and teaches from the heart. January 2024 Warrior Yoga (Hatha) with Ana. Ana's ability to translate complex information into easily accessible concepts is first class. Every week we try something new or concentrate on a particular area of the body which keeps the sessions fresh and varied. Her teaching is practical and non-dogmatic, with a real emphasis on finding the variations that work best for individual bodies. Not only is she able to effectively break down poses so that you understand its key components, she then masterfully brings it all back together in a sequence to allow for a truly embodied experience. Plus, she always manages to make it fun! I didnāt know if I would ever be able to handle the heat but only after a few weeks I am embracing the heat and already canāt imagine not doing yoga this way. I can see a transformation in my flexibility already and always leave the class relaxed and uplifted and ready to enjoy the day ahead. Ana is a talented teacher who clearly cares deeply about her work. I thoroughly recommend...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've been a dedicated member of the studio for over a year, and there are several aspects that truly stand out for me:
Convenient Location: The studio's proximity to my home, just a short walk away, has been a key factor in my continued membership.
Exceptional Sound Experience: Their investment in Bose speakers has elevated my practice, as the immersive sound quality resonates deeply, enhancing the entire experience.
However, there are a few areas where I believe there's room for improvement:
Cleanliness and Hygiene: Over the past few months, I've noticed an issue with ants on my mat during practice, which has become somewhat persistent. Additionally, it's evident that the studio's floors could benefit from more thorough cleaning between classes. Extending the gap between peak classes from 15 to 30 minutes, would allow for a much-needed floor wipe-down to address issues like hair and sweat, and perhaps even provide an opportunity to refresh the energy (& scent) in the studio using sage or palo santo.
Bolsters and Blankets: I love the Yin classes, but the condition of the bolsters and blankets leaves much to be desired, as it's unclear when they were last cleaned. (Or ever?) The weight and texture of the blankets aren't suitable for a hot studio environment. It would greatly enhance the experience if the studio could introduce lighter, softer blankets that don't shed.
Class Schedule: While the studio currently offers classes in the early morning, during lunch, and in the evening, it would be fantastic if they could introduce a mid-morning class at 9:30 am on weekdays. This would cater to those who work from home or have morning commitments such as school drop offs, providing a more diverse range of options.
I genuinely hope that these constructive suggestions are taken into consideration, as addressing these issues would significantly enhance the overall experience at this...
