I really enjoy coming here for walks. The area offers a variety of attractions, from food stalls and pubs to cozy cafes where you can relax with a cup of coffee. It’s also fantastic for exercising, with wide pathways perfect for a stroll or even a jog. The atmosphere is refreshing, with a gentle breeze and plenty of green spaces, making it an ideal place to unwind. It’s especially good for family picnics, as there are shaded areas with picnic tables where you can gather and enjoy a meal together. For families with children, the nearby water park is a fun and exciting place where kids can splash around and play. Plus, it’s very dog-friendly, with designated spaces where dogs can run freely. One of the best parts is how easy it is to get here by public transport, whether by train or ferry, making it convenient for everyone. At night, the area transforms into something truly magical, with decorative lights illuminating the surroundings and creating a warm and inviting ambiance. From across the river, you can catch a glimpse of The Star Casino, adding to the scenic charm. It’s a place I always feel happy to visit, and it’s perfect for a day out with family, friends, or even pets.

Love coming to Southbank. You can just sit back and read a book or people watch on land or paddling in the water. You have the options of taking your own food/ drinks or the option is available to purchase them at several venues nearby. The parkland swimming area caters for everyone with the multiple swimming areas. Sand for the beach loving people or solid bottom for the sand haters, don't forget the little people they also have a shallow play area with water features to play in. People with disabilities also have access via a ramp to join in the fun. Seating is available throughout the park. I have focused on the pool area but you have so much more to the parkland than just this area. I will do an update later on this.

Great day out for the whole family. Play park or the choice of 2x pools while parents can picnic on the lawns. There are numerous lifesavers on duty. There is also a beer garden for the thirsty parents. There are BBQ facilities and lockers to keep your personals safe. Plenty paid parking underground. This park has numerous stores ranging from souvenirs to chocolate and a Nandos. You can catch the Southbank ferry as an alternative. Plenty sunblock and wear a hat. I suggest taking your beach trolley with all your goodies. There is a small beach. No need to take beach chairs. On the weekend is a street market and a must visit. There are numerous street facing restaurants and cocktail bars. It's a good day out.

What a fantastic day at the stunning Southbank Parklands! With a clear blue sky and the sun glistening off the refreshing waters of the pool and beach, there are countless lovely spots to sit back, unwind, and take in the vibrant atmosphere. The area is bustling with interesting and lively markets, making it a joy to explore. Watching the ferries and boats glide along the Brisbane River added to the charm of the day. The new casino and shopping district directly across from the parklands is both impressive and intriguing. There are plenty of dining options available, ensuring there's something for everyone in the family to enjoy. Overall, it’s an ideal destination for a memorable outing!

What an amazing area in the middle of the city- we LOVED it here! Lots of different pools for kids and adults- I believe 3 different ones: a splash pool, a beach and another third pool which seemed a bit deeper. There are toilets and showers nearby, plenty of lifeguards on duty, the place was clean and just all around an epic location for a family day. There are also plenty of restaurants nearby, lots of chill out spots, an awesome playground for toddlers and older kids and the Ferris wheel to top it off. Definitely a must do when you’re in Brisbane, we had the best time and will definitely be back!

Always such a beautiful spot down at Southbank Parklands. Unfortunately most of the grassy area was closed when we visited, but plenty of space on the stairs that still had grass. Close to all South bank has to offer including food and shops, so was easy to pack up a picnic and get some takeaway to eat here. Have previously done the popolo picnic but we don’t think they are doing that anymore. It’s a licensed are so you can BYO alcohol so it’s nice for a wine with a view. Always on the top of my list to visit while in Brisbane.
