The Mary Poppins show was awesome. The seats were great and the cast talented. I would give 5 stars except I found the peripheral logistics were challenging. It was difficult to work out ahead of time the best place to park (considering the distance to walk and cost to pay). Once we parked, there was minimal signage to assist us with the best way to walk there. We ended up parking in the adjacent Convention Centre which turned out to be really good in terms of walking distance. It cost $25 which I think was reasonable. Next time I'll book aheadto see if there's an option for a better deal. The walk to the Lyric Theatre wasn't signposted. The path was uneven in places. I tripped in a small hole and fell over. Embarrassing!!! and dangerous. I'm glad I wasn't badly hurt. I hope that by the time I next visit some work will be done to help patrons (unfamiliar with the area) to get there more easily and the pathways...
Read moreAbsolutely luved seeing Moulin Rouge, it was magnificent of what I could see of it! We had greatly hindered view as stage protruded below. People attending our Matinee Session on Sunday were frustrated and angry and complaining and asking guests in front 2 rows who were really leaning forward to see full stage they were obscuring our view almost totally at times except for outer sides! When I called QTAC to reschedule our day & time the operator never advised choosing Balcony seats would have hindered view! I checked our printed tickets when we got home and no mention of hindered view. I was really disappointed as not cheap seats and would have bought stall seats should I have known. I should complain to QTAC and ask for refund. Why sell tickets fully well knowing you will disappoint your patrons? I feel like we should rebook stall seats and go back and see it properly as just hearing the singing was not...
Read moreNot a review on the show, as Frozen was great. You should go see it. The theatre itself does not have any regulations around mask wearing, so in a packed out theatre surrounded by hundreds of people, covid exposure risks are high. Staff are mainly on the lower levels, so if you are sitting up top, it can be difficult to know the right direction to your door. The vending machines are very expensive ($4.20 for water). The layout of the theatre is nice, view of the show even up top is very clear. Crowds climbing up and down the stairs is not slow and the elevators did not have an obscene queue, so you are not waiting forever to get in and out of the theatre. There were some areas still closed off, but of what I could see, the theatre in general looked presentable and clean. My daughter did find some popcorn on her seat in the back row though, so that was not thoroughly cleaned after a...
