I was a dine-in regular of Little Red Dumpling Brisbane City. Last visit on this Thursday the 9th, the time was close to last order so just ordered takeaway at 20:23.
As it took a bit longer than usual, I went down to the counter to see if my takeaway’s ready at 20:46, a mean skinny waitress with no mask (during QLD mask restrictions) refused to check for me without asking my number, and replied me with an attitude just go back upstairs and wait as it normally takes 10-15 minutes for takeaway. So I waited patiently till 21:03 and asked the other waiter to just cancel the order if not started yet, who finally brought it to me, which apparently was out from kitchen at 20:33, so my food and myself had been unnecessarily waiting for each other for half an hour.
My favourite part of the story - I was a bit upset and forgot to check the takeaway bag, in which paper box lid for the fried chicken was wide open, and there had no dipping sauce for the dumplings as specifically ordered. The chicken nuggets were all cold and barely temperatured for the dumplings when I got home at 21:07. After enjoying an impressively chilled dinner up to 40 minutes wait, unfortunately I have to decide not to waste my time anymore.
Honestly the location of the shop is great; however, the food tastes averagely unauthentic, and guest service there is absolutely awful. Won’t go back...
Read moreI normally don't leave bad reviews over service but this was the most appalling service I've ever encountered. Had early lunch with a friend right when the store was open (11:30am), there were some other customers but it wasn't busy. When we first arrived, the one staff member was very straight and abrupt, but I didn't think too much of it. We ordered and paid using the QR code, so after we ate, we were good to go. My friend saw the cute old-school telephone near the front door so she took some photos. Then, we got yelled at by another staff member who then proceeded to speak in Cantonese (none of us are Chinese) from near the kitchen so all the other patrons could hear her yelling. She kept asking "DINE IN OR TAKE OUT??" and we said we have already dined in. She then approached us angrily and kept asking if we ordered take out in an accusatory manner. I had to explain to her that we already dined in, ordered through the QR code, and paid, so we were ready to leave (and showed the receipts and all). She finally understood the situation and apologised for her behaviour. I hope that the management will provide staff some more training to manage their stress and to deal with customers (who weren't even being difficult). I thought the food was good, but I won't be coming back after the...
Read moreTo sum up: I didn't get any food, was lied to about my order being on the way, was accused of stealing and then was refused a refund.
The long story: came in for lunch on a Friday with a group and ordered braised beef on rice, but 10 minutes later was made to change my order (because they ran out of rice...?). This was ok, I just changed to pan-fried dumplings however my food was taking forever and everyone else had theirs. I asked a waitress and she went to check but never came back. Asked another one and she said "so sorry, the kitchen said just two more minutes". My food still never arrived.
We had been there for over an hour at this point and I had to leave, so went to ask for a refund. The waitress asked multiple times if I was sure no one in my group had eaten it, which felt very accusatory and was completely wrong because I was very hungry so trust me, I was watching for my order. They then said they couldn't refund me until the checked the CCTV, and just kept saying the kitchen was sure they sent out my order. I was very angry, but had to leave and they still have not...
