No.5 Cafe — Restaurant in Brisbane City

Where do I start… do I start with the egg shell in my food or the fact I had to wait 45 minutes to get my food. VERY limited shaded seating, if you want to cook in the sun for an hour before you start eating this is the place for you. My friend waited 35 minutes for juice and avocado toast, while nothing of mine had come. When I went to ask about my order they looked at me and said oh well the receipt wasn’t working. Then proceeded to hand my friends food to me to take over to her cause it was ready. After the now 50 minute wait I finally get my juice then a little while after get my food, except for my hashbrown. He came over after another 5 minutes with my singular hash brown on a plate and put it on the other side of the table. The food was good but wait was not. The cherry on top is that people came and sat next to us while I was waiting for food and waited only 5 minutes for there’s… why did my friends food and I have to wait...

Came up from Sydney and stumbled across this great little place. Nestled in a small lane way with outdoor seating shared among a bar and a burger joint which gave off a really sweet community vibe. Chef and owner came to our table and we had a really nice chat about our mutual love of food and the hospo industry. Im a cafe chef and the coffee was strong and delicious, food was super yummy and not your standard run of the mill menu. Worth every penny (which really wasn't harsh on the pocket at all) all of this served up fresh n fast and from really lovely, attentive and helpful staff. We could taste the love! Today was our first breakfast date since the Lockdown in Brisbane and we couldn’t have picked a better place! The ambience is great and reminds of the Victorian laneway cafes! Super friendly service and great food, both taste and quality! It was a chilly morning and my wife requested for her coffee to be reheated, not only her request was happily accepted but we were served a whole new coffee! Not sure the story behind the name of the cafe but I’d like to think it’s called number 5 because of their commitment to five star food...
