You can't charge $40 for meals and not match with acceptable service. We were seated on a table inside that was set-up directly next to a table set-up outside with the glass wall between us which was super awkward (the restaurant was less then 25% full so no need to be sat there) may have well be sat on a table with them. The shared antipasto board came and was a somewhat reasonable portion for the $38 price point. However, the night was then ruined for me when only 10 minutes after it was served, we had main meals thrown in our faces. I really don't understand this. What is the point in ordering and entrees and mains if your going to bring main meals to the table without first checking if the customers are ready for them and then secondly respectively clearing the entrees from the table. When you're charging $40 for meals, a level of standards should be met and this restaurant came very far from that mark. I would have probably enjoyed my mains more if I hadn't had it thrown in my face before even finishing my entrees. We then had the opposite service for desert. We sat for over 20 minutes before anyone came to clear our plates and ask about desert. I would have happily shared my complaints with staff on the night. However, we were not asked once through out 3 courses or when leaving the restaurant how our experience was. You're charging top dollar and giving bottom quality service and average food at best. You'd get better meals and service at your local pub for...

I don't recommend this Restaurant it was awful. The food looked good but tasted terrible and the service was just ok, My bruschetta bread was so hard & over toasted I couldn't cut through it and when I mentioned it I was given new bread and made to scrap the food off the other bread onto the new bread myself at the table so no replacement offered and It was lacking flavour. The main meal of the chefs special Gnocchi tasted terrible. When asked at the end of my meal if everything what been ok and I said that it wasn't the waiter just looked awkward and didn't care and still charged me full price. No salt or pepper provided on tables, and when I asked for some salt it took about 4 or 5 different salt grinders all which didn't work and in the end I got a couple of granules before the staff took it away. Buffet breakfast was ok but not great, good food selection but food wasn't getting refilled (with 3 hours of service left) food again was flavourless, once again same issue with the salt none provided at the tables all lined up on a side table like the night before and none of the salt grinders worked and salt shakers were hard to get salt out of. This restaurant is very expensive and overpriced for what it is and food and service is just not worth it, I recommended...

Oh no! Where has it all gone wrong? I've had some really lovely, memorable experiences at Osteria Roma while staying in the adjacent Mercure (nee Pacific, nee Urban) Hotel over the years; many times I've sung the praises of the restaurant, but this latest visit was memorable for all the wrong reasons. The wine was good, but everything else about my experience was severely sub-par. Firstly, though it was table service, the wait staff didn't even acknowledge my existence, so I made my way to the bar to place my order. Secondly, though the wait for food was a long one (I was pre-warned as such), the pan-fried pumpkin gnocchi was oily, flavourless and underwhelming. And thirdly, on the clearing of my plate, there was no interest from the wait staff in my feedback and there was no prompt to order a coffee or a dessert. Nor did that offer come in the ten minutes afterwards. So I paid (again, no enquiry as to my thoughts on the meal etc) and left. I think it's the fact that I've had such incredible food and service experiences at Osteria Roma over the years that made my latest one so bitterly...

Fantastic location! Caters to walkthrough traffic, bookings and of course hotel guests (didn’t get to stay). Just amazing food and they really did pump out 3 courses within the hour (the 11th admittedly, thank you chef!). It’s amazing that you’ve only been open for dinners for 2 nights! A great exercise of subtle spins on classic Italian cuisine. The charred broccoli was amazing and believe it or not almost a standout. The sirloin was cooked to perfection and that ragu is something else. Desserts were subtle yet bold in their simplicity (canoli and pana cotta). Served by the wonderful Jordan tonight, what a bloke! Made my date and I right at home with some great beers on tap and efficient and genuine service. I’m local and there’s nothing around here that I’ve found so far that’s even close. Can’t wait to try the rest of the menu! Thanks Bec, Rhys

Wow! What an unreal experience I had at Osteria Roma tonight. Starting from nice venue, perfect music, great staff and finishing with the awesome food. I had a Groupon Deal for three-course dinner which had amazing value for money. Frankly, I was nearly full by eating entree only. Nutty chicken schnitzel had a great thin coating. I would definitely add more celeriac and carrot salad to the schnitz. BTW, thank you Chef that the main meal did not come with chips or mash potatoes. That would ruin the perfection on the plate. Ice Cream, unlike to other places, had real flavors of chocolate, pistachio and vanilla without overly sweet taste of sugar. The only minus was that the Tiramisu is not available in your Menu selection
