This place is legit. $1 game or $3 for pool.
I started playing pinnies when I saw PONG at a mates place in about 1977 or 1978 when I was 6 or 7. 》》FF》》 to the early 80s and we had Atari, and hand-held 2-screen Donkey Kong, and tabletop and stand-up pinnies like Frogger and Galaga. 》》FF》》 to today and, man, walking down to all those pinnies was 100% nostalgia. Back in the day - 1985ish - in Geelong there was a pinnie joint downstairs from ground floor. But aside from the nostalgia-value, this place has good vibe and energy, and a stack of machines. My mate from Kansas is why I'm here because he is a pinball fiend BUT he knows his sh*t (he's in a comp club back home) and he specifically came here for an arvo out of his 10 day holiday. I'm loving. Galaga, Frogger, Donkey Kong and Super Mario reminded me that while I may love these games they still require skill I lack lol. The only 7critique I have is the absence of aircon or fans. I'm Victorian so excuse my inability to cope with 30° and humidity haha But yeh this place is ace. Service and prices are on par with the machines and vibes too.
Edit: aircon was on only at the bar and there are many fans...
Read moreI did not go here expecting a restaurant meal, and yet the food we had was so low in standard. People go out to enjoy a meal together, so if it's a hotdog, it should be more than something I cannot be bothered to whip up at home. There is little effort here, the hot dog was well, just a hotdog in cold bread. No onion, no relish. They don't even bother to put the buns on the grill. I asked why the pizza is so burnt and they said it's not, it's the lighting in the place that makes it look as such. Burnt bits were hard and now edible & this is from frozen pizza. How hard would it be to get the timing right when you do this every single day, multiple times a day? And how hard would it be to throw in some fresh herb? Even the fries were not good and was served with nothing, no sauce. When I asked for sauce, they wanted me to pay. The place wasn't busy on a week night, there were free staff members and they still gave you a buzzer to self pick up. Food and service could have been...
Read morePincadia offers what few other similarly gaming bar/cades don't. Space. The zoning for the arcade area downstairs and the Pinballs upstairs have decent buffer zones so you're not obstructing free movement the player and someone trying to pass by. The music is always great and not so loud that you can't hear your friends. I only had the chips as a snack, so I can't speak to the food, but they offer a little bit of everything of the regular snack/junky types. The staff are friendly and the owners were enthusiastic about the scene, happy to discuss pinball and events they were supporting. I hope now that they've risen from the ashes, that this place becomes a local community staple. If you're thinking about catching up with some mates for a relaxed and entertaining Sunday sesh. This places comes highly recommend (even though I suck...
