This place has some absolutely fantastic function spaces. I'd recommend to anyone thinking about booking here to do a tour of the venue. The themes are so well thought out and superbly executed across every space, which makes this venue one-of-a-kind. All the staff are lovely, from the waiters, to the bar staff! I had my 30th birthday here at The Tailors function space (on 2nd March 2024), & while communication with event coordinators was at times hit & miss, when it came to the night of my function, I couldn't fault the venue or the staff. They were fantastic & also allowed us to use a different function space than originally booked, because the outside weather was unbearably hot/humid. I am so grateful for that offer! Loved that we had a private bar, audio, and visual equipment (projector & screen) to use as well. All my guests & myself included had an absolute blast at my birthday function, so I don't regret at all booking here, it was so much fun. Only CON: I feel the function package food wasn't too amazing for what you pay per head, it seemed a bit too basic. We did '5 substantial items'.

It could be partly due to my wanting to try this place for months, but it just sorta fell flat. Ordered 2 drinks and some nibbles. Food: The pork belly was tops. The charcuterie, however, was super disappointing and just not restaurant quality...the items are all purchasable at Coles and tasted of the same quality (a small dish of Peckish crackers, mixed olives, low quality meats and cheese). The best part was the focaccia bread and I'm sorry but no one orders a charcuterie board for the bread. If the offerings are going to be of that quality then the price should be cut in half. Drinks: Tasty and creative but a bit overpriced. I was happy with mine but my partner's had no depth to it, just tasted like juice. Service + Atmosphere: Attentive staff - for how big the drinks menu is, staff were almost too quick to try and take our order! Inside was warmly lit, hipster decor, fun music. Will give it another go but maybe just for drinks next time.

A great intimate venue for private functions. If you're looking to surprise and impress your guests, their secret entrance way that doubles as a tailor shop does the trick. Bathrooms are themed and so is the outdoor space round the back should you need fresh air. We ordered pizzas for the group, very tasty. They're in a good location, so you can jump ship to different bars in the area once your booking time is up. Good friendly service and venue managers who are willing to work with your budgets and requests to help pull off a real good time. Only constructive feedback is that it is hard to get in touch with the venue via phone die to their open hours, so all communications had to be via email. Sometimes it is nice to be able to voice things over the phone, a but more personable. Also, the pizza portions, although tasty, could have been slightly more generous.

Note this review is actually for "The Tailors hidden bar" which I have discovered is owned by the Canvas club owner and I want to give him some feedback on my experience last night.

Please look through my 500 reviews and attempt to find one below 5 stars. They are rare. I have owned a few cafes and an Indian restaurant and consider myself an incredibly fair reviewer and reasonable patron.

Back to my experience... My friend alerted me to the fact that behind an unmarked door and mirror was actually a really nice bar. I was excited to try it and we went inside. There was a group of ladies at the bar and the bar tender (politely) asked us if he could help us and before we could reply told us this is a private function and implied we should not be there. We immediately apologized and walked out. To my shock, there was no sign mentioning this outside that I missed. So not only were we incredibly embarrassed but I'm sure the ladies there were too.

This is really disappointing as I frequent and love the Italian cafe and other places in the strip and consider them world class dining and drinking experiences. Who in their right mind thought it would be a good idea to host a private event and not lock the door or even put a sign up saying so? What kind of experience are you going for? I will never take the risk opening that door again as I don't appreciate being asked if I can be helped like I'm crashing someone's...

I booked a table yesterday Wednesday 13/07/21 at 7pm for my friend and I, and it did not go well, we only ordered 4 things and 2 cocktails, as the menu does not have much variety and it is pretty expensive, but that was not the problem. Btw it took forever for them to serve us, we were not in a rush so that was not a problem either. The problem was that we only got 2 out of the 4 tapas. The waiter at some point came back to us and asked us if we were waiting for something else and we said YES, we are missing 2 of the 4 tapas and told him which specific tapas were missing, he said ok. Well another hour passed, and we saw other tables being served etc. so i called the waiter and asked him where were our missing tapas? He said oh i asked you guys if you were missing any tapas and you said no? We were like what?! Kitchen was already closed and he said ok the chef will cook one of the tapas for you (again he forgot we were missing 2 tapa not just one) at that point we were hungry an upset it was passed 9 and we came at 7pm … waiter removed the 2 missing taps from the bill and offered a little discount as an apology, 2 tapas and 2 cocktails with discount was almost 70$, then i see they charged me for a soda water bottle that i didnt order… a total mess when it was not even busy.. will never come back...
